Indiana scheduled for Tuesday is raising speculation that the presumptive Republican nominee will announce Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.
The Washington Times reported Sunday evening that Pence has a 95 percent probability of being Trump's choice, according to sources close to the campaign and to the governor.
The first-term Indiana governors name has surfaced in recent weeks as a contender for the position. Pence tepidly endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas before the state's May primary, but later backed Trump, praising the chance to "take a new direction" in Washington. "The kind of leadership that I truly do believe, to borrow a phrase, will make America great again," Pence said during a Thursday campaign stop, according to The Associated Press.
Others said to be under consideration for vice president are former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama.
Trump has said he will make an announcement before the Republican National Convention, which begins on July 18. Pence, who is seeking reelection to a second term as governor, would have to withdraw from that contest by noon on July 15 if hes going to run as Trumps vice president.
Former Trump adviser Michael Caputo said Sunday he's putting all his chips on an announcement at the event next week.
"Right guy. Right timing. Right place #TrumpPence2016, he tweeted.

Since this is media based, ergo it is likely untrue. Trump’s VP will surprise us all and he’d I’m sure like to go over their heads.
If I am wrong then Sessions is fine.
Gingrich has too many selfish brain farts...and you know what I mean. It’s like he’s 100 mph in the right direction then he switches his own track and derails.
The Washington post, the paper that exposed Clinton and Obama as much as they did Nixon...Oh wait a minute.
Cruzer? Oh touchback o.k. fr you?
No Pence.
It isnt.
Some “aw shucks” midwest nobody is not needed.
Like what the hell is this guy bringing to the fight?
Would Abbott help him win Florida?
Not a good choice, very unlikely, and, if occurred, very disappointing.
Pence is a coward and a lousy communicator. What’s the benefit? The GOP will win Indiana.
I’m tired of the “safe choice”. Shoot for the moon. This should be a revolution. Not the same-o same-o.
For reasons I listed before... An establishment VP will destroy the country for 30 more years (like when Reagan picked establishment Bush)
LOL!
It is the Washington Times, not the Post.
No likey.
The argument against Trump that Hillary is making, and which is her only argument since she is obviously wrong on all the issues is: Too Risky.
So Trump does need someone who defeats that architect. He does not need a second strong personality, as much as many of us might appreciate that.
So, this might be a good pick.
Pence took the proper stance on the lgbt wedding cake dust-up, right from the get-go; and then folded like a paper umbrella at the first squawk from the sodomites. Bad choice. Nothing there for Christians to admire. He kicked Christians under the bus faster than David Cooperfield could make them disappear.
Must be a female to neutralize gender gap.
I believe this is a mistake. I have no doubts that Pence is a good man but he will no draw the type votes Trump needs.
Didn’t he crumble on the Religious Freedom Law?
I would be okay with him as pick, but I just lost some respect for him after that.
He is falling into her trap. Hopefully they pick up on the negative vibes surrounding this before it is too late.
Experience at folding at the least hint of resistence, and selling out Christian business owners.
