Until you are very, very familiar with your state and local firearms laws you have no business carrying one around in your car.
You do that in New York and you are going to jail. You do that in Georgia or most anyplace in the southern states and it is visible likely you are just fine except in certain cities like Raleigh or Chapel Hill, NC. There you can go to jail.
Familiarize yourself with the laws that apply where you live and travel. Get a conceal carry permit and you usually can have one in your car and it not be laying out on the seat, that covers you legally. But if ever stopped by the police the first thing you say is "Officer, I have a conceal carry permit and I am armed. My weapon is located at X (in glove box, in door pocket, in holster on my right hip, or what ever is correct. All the time keeping both of your hands on a wide open window sill. Wait till the officer gives you instructions as to what he wants you to do. Don't move your hands without being instructed to do so and then exactly as instructed.

One day soon, the police will not be able to protect them. Most people are getting tired of their shit. Major violence, though, that fits his narrative that it isn’t safe, there are groups being allowed to be violent, will lead to his victory because many people who don’t feel safe don’t care who is in charge as long as they are safe.

Excellent idea. It really is. Next time, just send in an armored police tank with long robotic arms with bombs attached and ready to be set down. Back up - and pooff. Or, just use a hand grenade launcher when applicable/everyone moves back and away. And poofff -guy is gone.

That was actually a war and not a riot.
Whay started it? The cops showed up at a club to shut down a party that was going on after hours. The party was for the welcome home of a couple VN vets. That whole thing was actually the fault of the police if a person gets right down to it. They tols the people at the party they were going to arrest the whole bunch and someone chucked a beer bottle hitting one of the officers. And away it went.
