Hillary Clinton's weekend interview with the FBI stands as a perfect symbol of what is probably her biggest liability heading into the fall election: A lot of people say they don't trust her.

"Trust is the glue that holds our democracy together," Clinton said last week as part of a direct effort to address the issue in this small lull between the end of primary voting and the start of full-on campaigning for the fall vote.
"I take this seriously, as someone who is asking for your votes, and I personally know I have work to do on this point," Clinton told a friendly audience. "A lot of people tell pollsters they don't trust me. I don't like hearing that ..."

"You know, you hear 25 years worth of wild accusations, anyone could start to wonder," Clinton said. "Political opponents and conspiracy theorists have accused me of every crime in the book. None of it's true, never has been," but it also never goes away, Clinton said.

Clinton's campaign is trying to address the trust deficit in two main ways. First, through Clinton's own words and actions ... Clinton had volunteered to sit for an interview months ago and has said she is cooperating completely in an inquiry that could result in criminal charges for her or aides who sent and received classified material on a system that operated in parallel to government email accounts.

Second, the campaign is spending millions on television advertising ... The idea is that there is an opportunity now to reset voter opinions

A larger problem, however, is that Clinton has always been more popular, and viewed as more trustworthy, when she is doing a job than when she is campaigning for one.

For some reason, the health department makes us WaPoo newsers keep our hepatitis and cholera shots up to date ... and wear hip boots ... when we puke out this kind of propaganda for Hillary!
Compare the way they treated Nixon, Reagan, etc.. with how they report on their queen.
Free shit!
There ya go ... wrapped up.
Democrats have no problem with her being a crook. That is half the electorate so she is already half way there.
Oh, yeah...when Secy Hillary presented Russia w/ the
cockamamie "reset button," Americans fell over w/ trust.
No, and they don’t care
The scandals are coming faster than the New Yawk Slimes and WaPo can spin and tap dance around them. I’m afraid Clintoon’s scandal riddled trust problem is going to remain a problem. Voter stupidity and promises of more free stuff is about all Clintoon has got going for her.
40+ years of her filthy squalid dishonest public life and she wonders why a lot of people don’t trust her!?
She and her cretinous partner-in-crime should have gone to jail long ago, but they have been protected by a corrupt system.
No, Shrillary, most of the public doesn’t trust you, and we never will.
And if in spite of her current troubles, she gets elected president, the Clintonian penchant for scandal and trouble will continue. We will be subject to four to eight years of new charges, counter charges, dissembling, parsed language, non-denial denials, etc. etc.
The next president Clinton will go down in history being tainted by one scandal after another.
If you think about it, scandal defines the Bill Clinton presidency too. Monica Lewinsky and impeachment was only the biggest of the crimes and scandals of Bill Clinton.
I think the only reason Clintoon is running is so she can’t shred, delete and “wipe with a cloth or something” the history of she and Willie Clintoon before the historians get their hands on it 25 years from now. All traces of all of their corruption, fraud and scandals will be cleaned away like pee stains on a convenience store toilet seat. They’ll become saints. JMO.
In Hillary's case, the "glue" is that stinky white paste that they used to give us in elementary school, which never did make things stick together very well.
Second, the campaign is spending millions on television advertising ... The idea is that there is an opportunity now to reset voter opinions
So far, the commercials have told me that a) she used kids as a front to advance the cause of ramming socialized medicine down our throats, and b) her "qualification" for president begins and ends with how much she can convince us she "cares" for children. As if caring for children is a meaningful metric when it comes to who should be elected to public office.
No
her “qualification” for president begins and ends with how much she can convince us she “cares” for children
And those who oppose her will be rendered like an old horse to make that glue.
"A lot of people tell pollsters they don't trust me. I don't like hearing that ..."
Why am I reminded of a scene from Game of Thrones?
I had the chance to visit both the Reagan Library in Simi Valley and the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda. I was struck by how small Nixon’s boyhood home in Yorba Linda really was, and the fact a man from such humble beginnings could become president. Nixon was no saint to be sure, but c’mon compared to what this woman has done Watergate is mere child’s play.
