A robot-powered burger joint is coming to San Francisco.
In 2012, secretive robotics startup Momentum Machines debuted a machine that could crank out 400 made-to-order hamburgers in an hour. It's fully autonomous, meaning the robot can slice toppings, grill a patty, and assemble and bag the burger without any help from humans. The internet flipped out.
Years of relative silence ensued, but in January, Hoodline's Brittany Hopkins learned that the San Francisco-based startup had applied for a building permit to convert a ground-floor retail space in the SoMa neighborhood into a restaurant.
Now it looks like the restaurant is actually happening. A job posting on Craigslist from early June gives us our first glimpse into how the company's future flagship, presumably opening soon, might work.
"This location will feature the world-premiere of our proprietary and remarkable new advances in technology that enable the automatic creation of impossibly delicious burgers at prices everyone can afford," the ad explains.

I agree. Would rather order from a touch screen and get it made by a robot. Would probably add a lot of options too. I know a few things about the robotics industry. You will soon see robots in fast food joints. Employees will work side by side. Not a surprise. Very cost effective. A fully loaded robot with all the options in a kitchen is most likely less than $80,000.

They are actually all over some parts of Europe. There’s videos of tourists finding them at gas stations in Italy.
The break even point for automation in burger joints was $10/hr. Anything over that, the burger bot wins on price alone.
[A Bot-Burger may be convieniant sometimes, but other times, I enjoy a little pleasant human contact. Making eye contact, sharing a smile or a remark often adds to the experience.]

That's the inevitable result of all this talk of doubling the minimum wage by democrats. Now head to a local McDonald's and see who they employee, that's who gets hurt by this. Young low-skilled minorities will be unemployable after this minimum wage kicks in. Once their options to find legit employment disappear, what do they do? What sort of life are they led to? Probably either crime or welfare.

They actually have them, I watched a TV show a little while back where they showed people going up to the machine and buying a pizza, and you could look inside thing and watch it as it made it it was pretty impressive!
It looked really good, and the people said it tasted great. I thought it was really cool, looking through the tempered glass window, seeing the crust brown and the cheese bubble…
I don’t know why, but when I read your post it made me think of the scene from the movie “Spaceballs” that’s the take off on the Darth Vader scene in the movie Star Wars where he strangled the guy…

Yes, it’s too bad. Working in fast food joint is over useful workforce learning job.
At the very least, it can make you realize that work is actually… Work. We all have to admit, there are some teenagers who really need that lesson.
The problem is, kids who really do want to get a job as you said, won’t be able to.
Better pass on that burger if you are likely to have to take a wiz quiz. You will bust it for sure.
