(CNSNews.com) - Following the Senate rejection of a series of new gun control measures on Monday, Minority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D- Nev.) told fellow senators “the NRA doesn’t care about you” adding that the National Rifle Association doesn’t care for the constituents of lawmakers and “it doesn’t care about the constitutional rights of the followers.”
“Here’s a little secret for my Republican colleagues,” Reid said on the floor of the Senate Tuesday morning, “The NRA doesn’t care about you. It doesn’t care about your constituents, it doesn’t care about the constitutional rights of the followers.”
“The NRA and its leadership care about two things: making money from gun manufacturers and making money from the NRA and selling more guns,” Reid continued.

To say that I am disgusted with your continued “assault” on our civil rights would be an understatement. You and the other liberal democrats continue to misdirect the real issue which this administration continues to avoid. In fact, refuse to call it what it is. You and the main stream media have turned this around to make firearms the cause for every atrocity that occurs. Firearms DO NOT operate by themselves. They are inanimate objects. Apparently you and your ilk have no clue what the word “infringe” means. Even to the point of having Jeh Johnson of DHS declare domestic terrorism a threat equal to the threat from radical mulsims. You need to STOP worrying about offending someone and concern yourself with protecting law abiding citizens of this country. I still honor the oath my father used when he swore me into the Navy. If my memory serves, the NRA supported him for re-election in 2010. Speaks truth to the saying, “If you want a friend in DC, get a dog.” Guess Reid was the closest thing to a dog the NRA could find. I hope they’ve learned from this.
