A 7-year-old workplace retaliation lawsuit against Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Duckworth will remain a campaign issue into the late summer after an Illinois judge said on Thursday that the case could go to trial before the November election.
Union County Judge Mark Boie set a tentative trial date of August and rejected an effort by government lawyers to dismiss the case, which stems from Duckworth's time as head of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs.
Illinois Republicans have highlighted the lawsuit, seeking to thwart Duckworth's bid against Sen. Mark Kirk, a first-term moderate in a Democratic-leaning state. Kirk is considered one of the most vulnerable Republican senators.

This could tip the race away from the Democrats. At the least, it puts Duckworth on the defensive. I’ll bet she’s guilty.
She is the certain winner of the IL Senate race.
Duckworth had her leg blown off while serving in the ME. She completely took an IRS contractor apart in a Congressional hearing when the guy had claimed disability status for a ridiculous “injury”. .
Her republican opponent, Sen. Kirk, is almost as liberal as she is. These are some of his latest interest group ratings: Planned Parenthood, 100%; NEA, 100%; John Birch Society, 35%; and Gun Owners of America, 0%.
Chad Koppie, the Constitution Party candidate, needs people to help him collect at least 25,000 petition signatures between March 29 & June 20. Chad says that, if he’s on the ballot, the liberal vote will split among Kirk, Duckworth, and Summers (of the Green Party), helping Chad win with 20%. If you want to help him get signatures, please download his petition from www.constitutionpartyil.com.
Voters don’t decide elections in IL, the Combine does. At the moment, it behooves having the ultraleftist phony Kirk in the Senate majority. He does as he’s told.

REALLY?
One simple word...COMBINE
Are you saying that The Combine will support whichever candidate belongs to the party which will have the majority after election day? If so, that implies that it expects Republicans to hold on.
Turncoat KIRK is destined to lose.
No, because if that were the case, Durbin would’ve been defeated. They will support the candidates that best serve their interests. Having a Democrat Whip and a stooge in the GOP caucus in their back pocket serves them (not to mention their greatest asset, Zero himself).
Who will hear of it?
Kirk is a joke. Duckworth is pathetic on policy.... worse than Kirk, but Kirk isn’t good.
Let Illinois wake up someday and elect a Constitutionalist.

“Moderate” my arse.
She’s a Stalinist.
The DSCC doesn’t care what the Combine wants, they want the majority so they need Suckworth and Kirk is extremely vulnerable, by far the most vulnerable GOP Senator.
I couldn’t stand having that fake war hero piece of crap as a Senator, “Look at me, Bush stole my legs!!”. I would walk over broken glass to vote for RINO Kirk over that. Better someone that votes my way some of the time than none.
If the Combine wants Kirk, they’ll manufacture the votes to keep him, and the National Dems won’t be able to negate that. I wouldn’t vote for him under any circumstances. He’s as left-wing as my Democrat Congressman.
Sure they can, if Shillery carries the state by a large enough margin no force on Earth can save Kirk.
You overestimate them, they have lost before, they wanted Dan Hynes to beat Quinn in 2010, he didn’t. And it’s only an assumption that they prefer Kirk, I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that, they have a lot invested in this little witch.
But the Combine got their Governor in 2010 (Quinn) and 2014 (Rauner).
