Let's Reconsider Condoleezza Rice for Trump's VP
6/11/2016 | nikos1121

Today, Donald Trump floated Condi Rice's name as a potential VP running mate. He did it in a clever way. He asked the audience to shout out names.

From my TV I couldn't hear but he repeated the names Newt Guingrich, Jeff Sessions and Condi Rice. Only three.

I've always believed that if her entire story were made known, Condoleezza Rice would be a perfect role model for young Americans of all background and an inspiration to all adult Americans of color. I personally find her to be one of the most remarkable Americans to have served in high office.

Her story is uplifting and her achievements are far reaching. If Trump is looking for a world class success story, she has it in Condi Rice, and being VP would be just the ticket to remarkable biography thus far.

The press and her opponents have mislead us on her positions on several issues. For example, please do not make any commentary about her stance on abortion unless you fully read her statements on this issue below. They are not what you think.

Please take some time and read some of her biography by googling her. Here are some salient facts that I've put together.

-Born in Birmingham, AL and grew up in Tuscaloosa when the South was racially segregated.

-A trace of her ancestors go before the civil war found that they were sharecroppers

-Her DNA finds her to be 51% African, 40% European, and 9% Asian or Native American genetic descent, while her mtDNA is traced back to the Tikar people of Cameroon.

-She took music, French, ballet and figure skating lessons at the age of three.

-Her family moved to Colorado in 1967.

-She entered the University of Denver initially as a music major, then switched to political science after taking a course by Josef Korbeb, Madeleine Albright's father.

-She was a Phi Beta Kappa scholar and graduated cum laude with a BA in Political Science at the age of 19.

-She obtained her Master's Degree in Political Science in 1975 at Notre Dame.

-She obtained her Ph.D in Political Science at age 26 at the University of Denver, in Josef Korbel's College of International Studies.

-She worked briefly in the Carter administration.

-She attended Moscow State University where she took classes in Russian.

-Rice was a Democrat until 1982, when she changed her political affiliation to Republican, in part because she disagreed with the foreign policy of Democratic President Jimmy Carter.

-Her father was a life long republican.

-She served in Bush, Sr administration as an expert in Russian affairs.

-National Security Advisor and later Secretary State under George Bush.

-An accomplished pianist who has played with the Denver Symphony and YoYo Ma.

-She speaks French, Russian, German and Spanish.

-She has 11 Honorary Doctorate Degrees.

-One of the first two women who are members of Augusta National Golf Club

-Rice has appeared four times on the Time 100, Time magazine's list of the world's 100 most influential people.

(From Wikipedia)

Rice was eight when her schoolmate Denise McNair, aged 11, was killed in the bombing of the primarily black Sixteenth Street Baptist Church by white supremacists on September 15, 1963. Rice has commented upon that moment in her life:

I remember the bombing of that Sunday School at 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham in 1963. I did not see it happen, but I heard it happen, and I felt it happen, just a few blocks away at my father's church. It is a sound that I will never forget, that will forever reverberate in my ears. That bomb took the lives of four young girls, including my friend and playmate, Denise McNair. The crime was calculated to suck the hope out of young lives, bury their aspirations. But those fears were not propelled forward, those terrorists failed.

— Condoleezza Rice, Commencement 2004, Vanderbilt University, May 13, 2004

On The Second Amendment

Rice states that growing up during racial segregation taught her determination against adversity, and the need to be "twice as good" as non-minorities.

Segregation also hardened her stance on the right to bear arms; Rice has said in interviews that if gun registration had been mandatory, her father's weapons would have been confiscated by Birmingham's segregationist director of public safety, Bull Connor. leaving them defenseless against Ku Klux Klan nightriders.

On Abortion

Rice said If you go back to 2000 when I helped the president in the campaign. I said that I was, in effect, kind of libertarian on this issue. And meaning by that, that I have been concerned about a government role in this issue. I am a strong proponent of parental choice—of parental notification. I am a strong proponent of a ban on late-term abortion. These are all things that I think unite people and I think that that's where we should be. I've called myself at times mildly pro-choice. She would not want the federal government forcing its views on one side or the other.

Rice said she believes President Bush has been in exactly the right place on abortion, which is we have to respect the culture of life and we have to try and bring people to have respect for it and make this as rare a circumstance as possible. I am concerned about a government role and agree with those who do not favor federal funding for abortion, because I believe that those who hold a strong moral view on the other side should not be forced to fund the procedure.

Condoleezza Rice has indicated that she is not interested in serving as Trump's VP, but I can't help but think that he already knows that she is an example of a person who has succeeded against all odds.

She would be a welcome addition to the ticket. She speaks profoundly. She would shut up the Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney et al on Trump being racist.

She could bring more people than ever before of color to our party.

Here are some thoughts from others within the last two weeks:

-Giuliani: Says Kasich and Condi would make great VP picks for Trump

-Fox's Guilfoyle Floats Condi Rice As Potential Trump VP Pick

I think she would temper Trump's rhetoric and bring some instant sophistication to the campaign. I think she would probably do it under some agreement that he tone down his rhetoric or that she does not need to agree with him on all issues or with what he says.

Here is a woman who is obviously more qualified to be president than Hillary Clinton, and it will be obvious to everyone. Everyone.

Lastly, she has more Indian Blood in her than Goofy Elizabeth.

Remember, winning the election is the only thing that matters. The VP is largely ceremonial, esp in a Trump administration.

Christie might deliver NJ, and help in CT.
Kasich - OH, and would help in MI.
Rick Scott - FL.

Then again, maybe we just don’t want another demonstrable RINO loser in high office.

“It gives you people like Christie, Perry, “

Trump has said he’s going to pick someone who is used to maneuvering through DC/Congress/legislative process to help guide him...that leaves them AND RICE...OUT.

Walker wouldn’t be bad. However, look how Chris Christie is. He loves Trump. He’d give Trump one of his kidneys.

If Condi could secure the election of Trump, the I’m all in for Condi.

There would be some serious globalist liberal baggage there though.

Condi Rice has shown herself to be an outstanding American, who is respectful of American values as talked about in the Constitution. I don’t need any other information about her than that to consider her at the top of any list of people who can and will do the best for our country. She has proven her worth in her service with the Bush White House.

“Walker wouldn’t be bad”

“It’s just sad in America that we have such poor choices right now,” Gov. Walker told 27 News, after disavowing Trump’s racist comments about Judge Gonzalo Curiel.

All that being said, Condoleeza Rice’s CV and her personal qualifications for VP and President are far more impressive than crooked Hillary’s. I agree, however, this is not the right time for Ms. Rice; she is a refined, gentle, gracious human being, and we need a pair of loud mouthed, bullying, politically incorrect, plain spoken, take-no-quarter, street fighters running the country right now, if we are to save it.

I agree. The VP is a largely ceremonial post, attending state funerals, etc. Condi Rice has universal, albeit low-key, respect. Let’s face it, Trump has to some way get the GOP Establishment on board, even if it’s just lukewarm support. I think she’d make the perfect choice.

ENOUGH of the racial and gender pandering. It’s disgusting, pathetic and totally unnecessary.

I’ll pass on Rice, thank you.
Don’t care for her “positions” on some issues, and there are so many other people who could make really good VP’s

Finally, someone actually is impressed with her. She is truly the rags to riches story, in so many ways.

She is the kind of minority person that would inspire everyone. Not some shifty con artist, like Obama, Jesse Jackson, Reverend this one and that one... etc. She would teach us. Like:

-Muhammed Ali
-Clarence Thomas
-Jackie Robinson
-Booker T. Washington
-Thomas Sowell (although he’s made me mad of late)
-Col WEst

Not no but hell no on Rice. We don’t need a baby killer that close to the presidency.

So you have no idea what her positions on the issues are that would qualify her as a Conservative.

I have a news flash for you, she’s not. Not Socially, not with respect to secure borders, and certainly not in being supportive of Israel. To vote for or support someone while not caring to learn about their record as you have cited is dangerously naïve.

Ali, the draft dodger and NOI adherent, who renamed himself from the great Kentucky Emancipator, Cassius Clay, to that of a notorious slave owner and Satanic cultist, Muhammed Ali ? That inspirational figure ?

You just keep on digging.

Rice lying to us about 9.11 and lying to us about the Moslem threat to America....
I would never vote for such a person...
we almost may as well keep the Illegal Immigrant in Chief, in the WH

besides, a big part of Mr. Trump’s appeal to voters (including MANY Dems) is that he doesn’t lie like Obama/Hitlery
