The vast majority of Australian Defence Force personnel believes the Muslim religion promotes violence and terrorism, despite cultural sensitivity training by the ADF to have its soldiers take the view that Islam is a religion of peace.
The bombshell new study sponsored by the army finds that such anti-Muslim sentiments are probably quite widespread among Australian frontline troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and that the militarys efforts to reverse this trend are counter-productive.
.....
The best estimate for the proportion of soldiers who have received cultural sensitivity training and who believe that the Muslim religion promotes violence and terrorism is 91 per cent.
The corresponding figure for those who have not had cultural sensitivity training is 17 per cent.

If I am reading that right, the 'cultural sensitivity training' is leaving ADF personnel five times more likely to see Islam as promoting violence and terrorism. In other words, the more they know, the more they see the problems.
I'm probably fairly liberal for a retired officer of the ADF in that I believe not all Muslims are a threat - yes, I know some people here would say that makes me a fool, but I'll own that opinion and say I want the moderates to stand up and be counted and take control of their faith. It's the only way we can ever have peace with them. But trying to convince me that overall Islam isn't a threat we need to take seriously just makes me want to laugh.
The reason 91 % of the ADF soldiers believe it is because they are on the frontlines personally battling it instead of sitting behind a computer with multiple electronic devices getting their information from the MSM propagandists.
The problem is not what Muslims believe or what they pretend to believe, it is what the Koran says. If there are moderate Muslims, they are going against the tenets of their faith. You have to look at the Koran. What does it say? It says subjugate everything to Sharia. It does not allow for peaceful coexistence. Those Muslims who are truly following what Islam teaches are the radicals - ISIS, the Taliban, Al Queda, and whatever other name they use. If moderate Muslims exist, they are heretics to Islam.
Islam cannot exist in a free and tolerant country. There are no moderate Muslim countries. There is no way one can massage what is written in the Koran to make Islam reasonable. It must be banned in civilized countries.
Bring US troops home, put on US borders, ban Islam, close mosques and deport Muslims, and institute a “pet the pig” requirement to board a plane or enter the US. All western nations should do the same. Let the Shia and Sunni have their war in Muslim countries and keep the insanity out of ours. Problem largely solved.
It’s taking a long time for this to penetrate all the thick, dense delusional skulls in the civilized world. They seem to think that izlam is just another religion, like the one that they don’t practice very well any more, Christianity. Christianity has very little influence on modern daily life any more, and is seen as a silly set of outdated practices with no practical value, and certainly not a danger to anyone. They apply the same reasoning to izlam.
However, izlam is not like Christianity. izlam has a very strong influence on the everyday life of its practitioners. izlam dictates every aspect of life, and includes all sectors. Science, literature, politics, medicine, art, religion, sex, war are all included in izlam. Far from being an innocuous set of silly practices, it is a violent, world-expansionist ideology wrapped in the external trappings of a silly-a$$ religion.

It seems most IDF soldiers know their stuff.
I agree most IDF soldiers know their stuff. this is about ADF Australian Defense Force. I did not know they called themselves that so I had to look twice as I too was seeing ADF and interpreting IDF
I know it is the JSDF for Japanese Self Defense Force, which has a pretty good offensive capability.
No kidding?
Pretending a cobra is a pet just like any other won’t keep it from biting you.
Really? I wonder what tipped them off.
There can never be peace with Islam. Their book tells them they are obligated to convert or kill all non-believers. It also says there cannot be peace until there is only Islam.
All muslims are commanded to seek world domination and sharia law for all.
Submit or die.
Mad Mo made it so.
Most ADF soldiers are correct. Now if we could only get the politicians on board.
Part Two is up on Gates of Vienna today.
This is Part One, but it'll get you there.
Some people will surrender their basic survival instincts, some won’t. Darwin at work. The soldiers of Australia are simply more evolved than their politicians.
The ones who are not a threat, are the ones who are not serious about Islam -- the "secular" ones who, while coming from an Islamic culture, are actually atheist, agnostic, or closet Christians.
But that means that the reason these moderate Muslims are not a threat, is because they are not really Muslim.
Ah, that was a dumb mistake on my part. That being said, anyone who thinks Islam is the enemy of civilization is still correct, regardless of the nation of origin.
Just to be clear - ADF or Australian Defence Force is the overall term for the combined Australian military forces. It is divided into three services.
The Royal Australian Navy.
The Australian Army.
The Royal Australian Air Force.
So the Australian Army lacks royal sanction?
just kidding, bless the great ADF!!
Australia adopted the same tradition in naming our armed forces (so did Canada and New Zealand) - Air Force and Navy are Royal - Army isn't.
Individual Army Regiments can bear Royal titles (so we have the Royal Australian Regiment, the Royal Australian Artillery, and the Prince of Wales's Light Horse for example) but never the Army as a whole.
Aahhhh, thanks, that sorts it out well for me.....
