Virginia wildlife rescuers are speaking out against "fawn-napping" after seven people dropped off what they thought were abandoned fawns at the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Rescue of Roanoke over the weekend.
A spokeswoman for Roanoke Wildlife Rescue said people often think they are rescuing the baby deer, but, more often than not, what they are doing is "fawn-napping."

Predators gotta eat too...
On the east coast, they’re nothing but rats with antlers.
I thought Bambi’s mother died?
They look so vulnerable when you see them. Wait at least 6 hours before you do anything. The doe has left it in a place she thinks is safe because it is too young to follow her while she feeds. She will return to feed it once she is ready.
I thought she got killed in a tragic kiln explosion...
Good point, how about this atrocity of do-gooders trying to alter nature and its natural selection? Just euthanize the damn things and put them out of their misery......sheesh!.../s
Rescue mission for two fawns after mother deer found injured on Detroit's west side
I remember that thread bro and I was called an ass hole simply for agreeing with the actions taken by that father and his son.
I'm a human and a hunter with a soul and a conscience who has the utmost respect for nature and our guardianship over all animals both small and large. I will always go out of my way to assist an injured or abandoned baby animal since there are thousands of agencies available and willing to take them in and nurse them back to health and hopefully release them back into the wild......
To ignore these helpless animals and crucify those willing to give them aid and comfort is a reflection on how far our society has devolved.........
Exactly. Rabbit Moms do the same thing.

Your right it shows how far our society has involved into humanizing animals.
When we spend tens of thousand of dollars trying to save critters that would be better killed or left alone.
There is no shortage of deer dogs cats and many other animals. It is a total waste of money trying to save the few.
To save the few, as in the video I posted above, there is no waste of money since it comes from volunteer organizations who have no qualms in their efforts to help wildlife via their own donations........
Nice try.........
I hate wildlife. With any luck, I will eliminate all the wildlife in the world before I die.
I hate trees too.
It still takes money no matter where it comes from.
Awe come on Laz - we all know you’d hit anything that walks. I’d say that’s a pretty wild life.
Stop with the hate Laz, trees are your friends............
And if you're focusing on Maples, don't be a sap.........
LOL!
