Even after a jury unanimously found him guilty of sexual assault, Stanford rapist Brock Turner refused to directly apologize to his victim or take responsibility for his actions. Instead, he blamed alcohol and the party culture at the elite Palo Alto, California university for landing him behind bars, according to a statement the 20-year-old read before a judge at his sentencing hearing last week. The statement, obtained by the Guardian and published on Wednesday, echoes the victim's concerns that Turner doesn't understand that what he did was wrong and that he needs to face up to the consequences.

Too much booze makes recovery much harder.
The father seems to suffer the same myopia. Twenty minutes of ‘activity’. By that reasoning someone who shoots someone in a single minute would get a shorter sentence.

Er, the purpose of the justice system is to protect society, not to achieve a personal epiphany. Most people in prison don’t believe they ever did anything wrong in their entire lives. That’s why they are in prison. They only say they have remorse to get parole so they can continue their attacks on decent people.

Sounds like the kid has all the makings of a fine future Judge or Politician.
I’d be willing to bet the father would be all in for more than 3 months in county jail for the perp if he had been anally raped for “only twenty minutes”.
