Missing: Google’s D-Day Commemoration
Breitbart ^
Posted on 06/06/2016 6:16:28 PM PDT by ErikJohnsky
Today marks the 70th anniversary of D-Day, and Google has decided to sit on their hands for it. On June 6th, 1944, American forces stormed the beaches of Western Europe in the bravest and largest amphibious attack in history. A battle that turned the tide against Nazi Germany and changed the course of World War II hasnt earned itself a Google homepage doodle, however.
Interestingly enough, you may remember Googles homepage from May 19th where they honored Yuri Kochiyama, a social activist who openly praised Osama bin Laden, Malcolm X, and Fidel Castro for their work.

Jesus was a freedom fighter? Thats a new one. He seemed more concerned about the next kingdom than his current one.
Perhaps I should clear that up. You are correct. Jesus freed our souls rather than combat earthly oppression. He enlightened humanity that regardless of the chains that shackle us to this worldly life we are free in his name in heaven after we give up this fragile body. The slave, the master, the king, the pauper, the warrior, the cripple, are all equal in his eyes. No matter our lot in life, we all die. Jesus freed our souls. What peace that is. Perhaps my label of "freedom fighter" doesn't match modern rhetoric.

Sergey Brin, Google Co-Founder, is a Soviet Jew. FYI.It still has a hard-Left orientation, regardless of who its "co-founder" was. And now apparently Germany has been added to Japan as a "victim" of American "aggression."

They were also silent on Easter this year.
Many Freepers may be under the impression that most Googlers lean hard left. After being a rare conservative Googler for 4 and a half years I found that this perception is absolutely true.

It has been said that the current generation of youth know close to nothing about history. This just aligns with that level of ignorance. Ask any of them about the major events of the 20th century and you get blank stares. Going back even further would be like entering a black hole of ignorance. This was an important book in 1987.

Bing had a stunning aerial photo of Point Du Hoc at Normandy. You could clearly still see the gun emplacements, trenches and oil box foundations.

Startpage.com uses Google as its engine, but anonymizes the user. It is related to Ixquick, which another FReeper mentioned.

Google never does obvious stuff for those Doodles. Holidays or big anniversaries are generally not commemorated.
