You have Katie asking the group this question, “Do you think people on the terror watch list should be allowed to own guns?” Katie’s asking the question of the group, but as the filmmaker, I want to ask the question of the audience. So what I was thinking, my editor was thinking was we need to stop for a second, because the film moves along at a really fast clip. So you’ll see that throughout we’ll stop down after something happens or when we present something. The terror watch list is a real pivotal feature in the film, as is the whole notion of background checks. So this felt like a really crucial time to stop down and allow the audience a moment to let that question sink in.

Were you surprised to see this moment in the film singled out?
No, if they didn’t find this, they would have found something else. Honestly, I think it’s interesting that they’re focusing on what’s not in the film instead of what is in the film, because if they focused on what is in the film, it would threaten their livelihood. This is very textbook gun-lobby intimidation tactics, and I won’t be intimidated.

No surprise. In one interview when she questioned about the clam that even lots of NRA members oppose many of the NRA’s positions like no universal background checks, she was asked why they were members of the NRA, in that case? She said because of the “good deals” they get from various NRA vendor discounts, which of course is a real howler.
I’ve checked out several of these “good deals” at one time or the other, and pretty much they’re the very opposite of good deals. For instance, they couldn’t come close to the rates I get from my local State Farm agent on any kind of insurance, and I had to spend A LOT of time giving A LOT of details to get the quotes.

Actually, it was the producer who I was referring to. And it was this producer who was the real “brains” (such as they are) behind this whole gun propaganda “documentary”. Basically, Katie is just the talking head “celebrity” click bait and the director pretty much just does what the producer tells him to do.
They were encouraged in seeing how effectively they pushed Obama on the voters and still keep covering for him.
Let’s see. Producer, director, celebrity duped. Sounds like buck passing in the liberal way.
Not surprised. Obama set the tone; this is the Age of Doubling-Down when you get caught lying, stealing, or violating rights.
They have been remarkably effective, but more people are recognizing that they are as dishonest as Donald Trump said they are.
And, like me, they are happy that finally somebody is speaking out against them and not meekly taking it like Romney did.
Now that is weird. I just show my NRA membership card at the local gun shop and they simply give me any gun or ammo I want for free. Or, maybe it’s white privilege. :)
