Ruben Brosbe, a third-grade teacher at a public school in New York City, doesnt like Donald Trump. Its clear he despises the man who is about to be named the Republican presidential nominee and all that he stands for. And he has written publicly about his desire to share this with the children in his class.
Teachers, he says, must not silence themselves when the subject arises. The fact is, Donald Drumpf is not an ordinary politician, writes Brosbe in TheEducatorsRoom.com in a article titled Teachers Must Take On Trump. His rhetoric goes beyond typical political mud-slinging. It is dangerous, offensive and demands a response from educators.
Brosbe uses the name Drumpf instead of Trump, which is code for I hate Trump. It comes from a segment earlier this year on comedian John Olivers show on HBO. Apparently back in Germany in the late 1600s, the Drumpfs changed their name to Trump. To Trump haters, however, the name change is proof of his shadiness. Its akin to someone calling the president Barack Hussein Obama.
Brosbe, a graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, says the topic of a wall between Mexico and the U.S. came up at lunchtime this spring when the kids in the Hamilton Heights school started asking about the upcoming New York primary. After the third graders tossed around some candidates and issues, he explains, the tone changed as the discussion turned to Drumpf. One student wanted to know if an aunt in Mexico would still get mail. Some of his third-graders were born in Mexico and so were many of their parents, he says, but the possibility of postal service interruption is his only first-hand anecdote of concern from his students. Still, he senses a mixture of anxiety and anger beneath their conversation.

So, when is he getting Fired?
Putz
I think I see the problem...................
Why is a MAN teaching 3rd grade?.........................
B.S. meter just went off. What bunch of 3rd graders sits around at lunch and talks about political primaries?
If Ruben really wants to set an example for his students, he should start with teaching the value of seeing a dentist, by using his teeth as a reminder of what happens when one neglects oral hygiene.
Its akin to someone calling the president Barack Hussein Obama.

hardly ...
calling the next president Donald John Trump would be “akin to someone calling the president Barack Hussein Obama”
Sure he can. But it cuts both ways. He needs to make himself available on his time for eight hours to hear every parent in his class over their political views while being made to sit quietly over the threat of suspension for unsolicited comments he may make unless called on to do so.
Why don’t these peckerhead, Meow Men just stick with the 3 R’s. No one gives a #### what these parrots think.
Teachers, he says, must not silence themselves when the subject arises.
My answer is the same across the board -- this guy, Kim Davis, or Muslim cashiers who won't ring up pork or alcohol -- do your job.
excellent!!! Friggin flower fairy.
I don’t think a teacher’s political or religious beliefs have any place in the classroom.
Just thinking back, I don’t think any teachers of mine expressed political opinions. We might discuss elections or current events, but never recall a teacher bad mouthing any candidates for office.
But that was then and this is now. Now, if you are liberal, It sounds like its OK to bash Trump.
If teachers were to bash Hillary or Bernie, is that similarly OK???
First, third graders don’t care about politics. Second, He should keep his political views to himself in the class room. He can talk about them with the other teachers in the break room or after school.
Ruben "Booben" Brosbe is a flaming metrosexual pajamaboy!
I bet he’s a brony - adult males who like My Little Pony.
My Fourth Grade Teacher didn’t like the Beatles and she let us know. She thought their Hair was too long. LOL
I think that’s an effect of being the tail-end of the 0bama Human Centipede...
