The first Jewish candidate to get to the homestretch of a Democratic presidential primary is making it his business to move the party formally away from its support of Israel.
At least to the degree that President Obama hasn’t already done so.
Senator Sanders’ nominees to the Democratic Party’s platform committee include radical environmentalist, Bill McKibben; Native American activist, Deborah Parker; and muslim congressman Keith Ellison of Minnsota.
The big news, though, is that Mr. Sanders’ surrogates include pro-Palestinian activist James Zogby and leftist professor Cornel West, two of the harshest critics of Israel on the national scene.
It’s not my intention here to suggest that any of these worthies ought to be excluded from any Party’s political debate. But what does it say about Mr. Sanders that these are his platform writers?
The anti-Israel edge to Mr. Sanders’ surrogates is so pronounced that even the New York Times warned that a “bitter divide over the Middle East could threaten Democratic Party unity.”
Nor does this seem to be unintended. West, veteran of Harvard and Princeton, and Zogby, head of the Arab American Institute, were themselves quoted by the Times as vowing to overturn the party’s “lopsided support for Israel.”
One of Hillary Clinton's nominees is former State Department aide Wendy Sherman.
Mrs. Sherman’s claim to fame — or infamy — is as co-author of the articles of appeasement on Iran.

Cornell West is a spittle-spraying racist. Why would anyone look to him for strategy or guidance?
The heathens (Democrats) may as well deny Israel, they did the same to God Himself at the 2012 Democrat convention.
Some people might even dislike him because of his POLISH background. Who even knows what biases some people bring to the table.
Having visited Israel in 2011 I could SEE that the Israeli Jews, Muslims and Christians DO "live and let live." They often even COOPERATE.
Bottom line: NO ONE can "explain" the middle east. One has to visit it, hear it, smell it, see it and taste it. All unique.
I would NOT want to live there but EVERY Christian OUGHT to save his/her pennies and take a tour of the Holy Land. Well worth it!!

Bernie the Communist shows his true colors. Red red and red. An apparently sincere and fairly likeable old guy who’s seriously missed the boat politically and spiritually. Pray he finds God ( or at least recovers some good sense) while he still can.

We learn to deal with all those biases or we ignore those folks whose biases are just too much. There have been a few here for me...just a few. :o)
