"Pocahantas."
For a long time I've been busting on Marco Rubio people, and the class -- Upper Middle Class College-Educated -- so enthused about him.*
I've said this before, but this class, in particular, is extremely bully-able. Their class itself is is the product of liberal social cues and mores. College being one of the main prerequisites of class entry (other prerequisites: That your parents are also college-educated), this class is particularly sensitive to threats to their social status by liberals.**
Any class whose credentials are monitored by a progressive/archliberal dominant cadre is going to be easily whipsawed into conformity with that progressive/archliberal cadre.
I'm sorry to say this, but most of the right's "leadership" -- media, think tank (academic), political -- is drawn from the upper middle/parents were college educated class.
It takes very little to pose a challenge to their class membership -- a questioning of whether or not they're firmly enough committed to liberal social values, to get them to back down and begin making apologies.
When you look at people like Paul Ryan, the whole point of their "conservative agenda" seems to be to accomplish every single Action Item on the liberal checklist, but through, allegedly, more conservative means (such as "market-based mechanisms" -- this is how Romney, obviously a High Avatar of this class, wound up passing the "conservative version of universal health care," RomneyCare, which ultimately gave us ObamaCare).
And this is why I keep saying, over and over, that Rubio People Are Silly. Marco Rubio never talked about any real conservative principle. He never attempted to upset any political applecarts or further any conservative ends.

Could it be the folks who support Trump have had enough and want true leadership?
Well, it was a fine rant until it got to the Trump is a bully, narcissist, bad man stuff.
What exactly makes Trump a bad man? He seems quite a fun fellow to me with an exceptionally nice family and a strong work ethic. Or is that Ace of Spades actually doesn’t think it’s possible that someone can speak truth to power and still be a good man?
Or, as I suspect, Trump dissed Ace’s candidate and that, ipso facto, makes him a bad guy.
Why Trump Won
Because the rest of the candidates all supported some form of surrender of the rule of law and the country to illegal aliens and their employers.
The citizens want the laws and borders enforced.
Finally, we have been able to break the stranglehold on the GOP of The Cheap Labor Express.
They have been serving up nothing but amnesty candidates since the last amnesty.
Every one of the other contenders was for some type of amnesty.
[And this is why I keep saying, over and over, that Rubio People Are Silly. Marco Rubio never talked about any real conservative principle. He never attempted to upset any political applecarts or further any conservative ends]
Of course not. Some of us could see through Rubio for years.
...rant that Trump is a bully, narcissist... Very much agree. Three added points:
But despite it all, this is a movement. The people "get it" and Trump is on his way to the White House and we're finally going to see a government that's responsive to the people. GO TRUMP! |
Ace has never liked Trump on the personal level and never will. He started with Perry, went to Walker, can’t stand Rubio or Kasich so he went to Cruz.
At this point ace understands the important thing:
Trump is easily superior to Hillary.
Another great post!
Two (make it three) words I’ve gotten really, really sick of in this elections cycle are: conservative (credentials) and presidential. Gag me with a spoon ! (how unacademic of me to say that)
If Ace supported Perry first, he’s a complete idiot. And for a man who drops a hell of a lot of F bombs, he has some nerve saying Trump isn’t a good man. I wonder if he wears spectacles to look smarter in his personal life?
I’ve been working on a story about this word “presidential”, so you’ve inspired me to finish that in the next few weeks. I’ll ping ya.
As long as ace votes for Trump and encourages others to do the same I’m fine with him.
Hell I’m fine with full-on libs who vote for Trump as far as the election goes.
If I only want to listen to and vote for those I agree with on everything I’ll just have to run for office myself.
go for it! yes, be sure to ping me. :D
Can you add in the word ‘vulgarian’? Which is really code for Hitler.
sho’ nough!
Lots of Cruz supporters will clutch their pearls and faint at the language in this article.
Good.
Ace is an emotionally unstable NorthEasterner. He was fine with Mitt back in 2012, and even thought he could win against Obama right down to election night.
This season, he was a Never-Trumper even to the point of floating the idea of voting for Hillary. Now, he’s swung back the other way somewhat and realizes Hillary’s Presidency would be the worst thing that could happen to us.
Ace is entertaining, sure, but don’t follow any political primrose path he may lay down for you. The guy is not right in the head.
