Donald Trump outsources campaign operations to RNC

Donald Trump said Thursday that he plans to outsource key aspects of his presidential campaign to the Republican National Committee.

Trump's shoestring operation was good enough to win a primary, succeeding on his ability overwhelm opponents by dominating the new cycle. But Trump Tower is woefully unprepared to take on Hillary Clinton, lacking any semblance of a sophisticated field or digital program.

The RNC has spent the last three years building, from scratch, a modern voter turnout that was always intended to serve as the foundation for the eventual 2016 nominee's campaign infrastructure. That includes 287 paid staff in 11 battleground states, plus another 179 set to joint them.

But the assumption was always that the presidential nominee would bring something the table in the way of field and data analytics, built during the primary contest, as is typical of Republican standard bearers. Trump isn't the typical candidate, and is instead handing off responsibility for voter turnout to the RNC.

The move is making some Republicans nervous. They fear the committee will be too consumed with Trump to focus on House, Senate and governors races.

"There are worries," said GOP strategist Kevin Madden, a veteran of Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign, "since Trump never really built much of an operation."

Given that, some Republican operatives are saying that Trump to delegate was the only choice available to him. "It's the only logical thing for him to do," a veteran GOP campaign strategist said.

Trump is expressing confidence in RNC Chairman Reince Priebus' ability to manage all the party's needs — his and those down ticket.

"As far as building the infrastructure of the campaign, the RNC has been doing it for many years. Reince has really upped it and all over the country they have very good people," Trump told reporter...

I agree. Trump would not have made this decision if he was not confident RNC would do the right thing.

Yup. I think Trump has warned Rinsed Prius:

They’re just looking for excuses for when they lose, which they might because THEY FREAKING DESERVE TO after what they did to us! I realize, though, that just sending majorities to congress isn’t enough, it takes more time to capture the leadership. So some of them may be spared the hook.

You’re right. And even though Trump does speak out against illegal immigration and Islamic fundamentalists, he does so from a reasoned stance.

This isn’t about a bias against either group based on ethnicity.

Play by the rules. Come here and meld in. Respect the nation and support it... These are just normal things that citizens should do.

I don’t think there’s a racial bias bone in his body.

He addresses real issues from a rational perspective.

Gosh, how unique and idea is that!

Something tells me that Trump had a far better “ground game” than we realize. He won every county in numerous states, and lost just a couple of counties in other states, and won male, female, young, middle age, old, high income, low income, college educated and high school grads, rural and city. That doesn’t happen by accident.

I have sent word via callers for funds. We had to record and forward all messages when callers were doing the primary calls. I hope they have continued that policy.

I have sent written claims of their efforts to stop us to Trump address on his site.

I tell everyone I know and will continue!

Local Rep. Office was awful to us. Promised food for office opening and cancelled the night before only because we tried to set up delivery of Subway catering they promised...found out they cancelled that day.

They planned to embarrass us when nothing arrived...Too Bad, we shopped and worked all evening and morning and had a great party! We found a grill and had hots, dogs, chips and many desserts and fruit...Lots of soda and even cases of beer! (Not originally planned!)

I believe it became the SCREW'EM PARTY!!

They did other things I can not relate...or personally prove. I do know our chairman (disabled vet volunteer) threatened to quit more than once over supplies, signs and more. ( Trump staff arrived with signs, Bumper stickers and hand out cards ) Another county had so much trouble they came to get us to share...we did.

Rep. HQ put out the Cruz signs at all the polling places and left the Trump supplied ones behind. Volunteers took their yard signs to the polls when they voted...I went home for mine and went back to the roadside and PLANTED it ceremoniously!! and conspicuously!

NO MONEY or HELP from me after 59 years a registered Republican. Yes, I am old!
