If what you are describing is a Constitutional convention which could add or remove things from the U.S. Constitution.it is the worst idea in history.....I see the voters of today and see backers of Hillary, backers of the communist Sanders and don’t want them anywhere NEAR the Constitution other than to read it.

That’s not how it works. It has a specific agenda, not a free for all.

The top issue: term limits in the House and Senate.

Indeed, I see all sorts of global warming and sexual amendments being added in, and the 2nd amendment being changed to their own liking

That would be my worry, too. Once you open the barn door...it seems to me that anything could happen.

Although I may be wrong.

In any case, it is a very serious step.

It is not a “constitutional convention” but instead a “convention for proposing amendments to the constitution” — there’s a pretty huge difference there, especially because there still needs to be ratification.
