Dave Matthews Band will donate the proceeds from their upcoming concert in Charlotte to five organizations fighting North Carolina’s recently enacted transgender bathroom law.
Unlike other artists who have cancelled concerts in the state in opposition to the law, Dave Matthews Band will go ahead with its scheduled May 27 show at the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte.
In a brief statement on their website, the band announced that a portion of proceeds from the performance would go to five organizations working to fight the law: the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Lambda Legal, ACLU of North Carolina, Equality NC and Time Out Youth.
The band selected the beneficiary organizations with the assistance of NC Needs You, an organization that encourages artists and musicians to honor previously scheduled engagements in North Carolina.

To me, the Dave Matthews Band is extremely bland, however, I gotta hand it to them, because of their fan base. Dave Matthews has some of the most loyal fans I’ve ever met, almost, almost on par with Neil Diamond fans. It’s like a (benign) cult in some ways.
All that aside, I’m glad some musicians are brave enough to speak up and think out of the PC box. I’m guessing most of his band members are family men by now.
I don’t care who he is. Does he want grown men watching little girls on toilets ( watching them) ? Do they actually want 18 year old young men in the female high school shower who simply say “ I feel like a woman today until I leave the shower and then I’m a male again”,while his buddies sit in there with folding chairs? This will not prevail. Why are the churches doing nothing? Afraid to take a stand again?

I just re-read the article. I made an error. He DOES support that men in the women’s room bill. My first statements about his music being boring still stand, though.
