Cruz's campaign is over, but his delegates fight on (Better call Saul)
LA Times ^ | May 21, 2016 | Seema Mehta & Melanie Mason

After Ted Cruz dropped out of the presidential race, his campaign staffers boxed up their mementos and souvenirs as they prepared to shutter the Houston headquarters, and the Texan announced that he would seek reelection to the U.S. Senate.

Yet Cruz’s team didn't abandon the race for the White House entirely. It still filed a slate of potential presidential delegates for California’s June 7 primary, and continues to monitor delegate selection in states that already voted in the GOP nominating process.

The end result is that Cruz will have more than 550 loyalists attending the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July — a ground force that helps him establish himself as the national leader of the conservative movement, protect the party's conservative platform from what the senator has called Trump's "New York values," and lay the foundation for a potential 2020 presidential bid.

"Remember he didn't tell the people of Texas that he was a Canadian citizen...and tried to tell some sap story, which his college roommates come out and said he knew about it because he bragged to them about it... "

Now, everyone in Texas knows he lied to them by withholding the fact he was STILL a Canadian citizen when he stood for the US Senate.

While I'm certain that Ted's deal was for, if not establishment support in 2018, at least for their agreement not to run anyone against him in the primary.

So, he'll have to settle for defeat at the hands of a Jim Webb-type Democrat.

"Ted Cruz lied to us in 2012, why would we believe him now?".

That will be the winning theme.

Too bad, most will not come to their senses. It’s a cult and they will sit out or vote for Hillary.

They might as well pass out Hillary shirts for them on the convention floor.

Certainly they can find one decent Republican in the state of Texas to run against Cruz.

I agree with your assessment of Ted Cruz. I see both Cruz and Rubio, first term senators, as thinking they were too big for those jobs, or overqualified for the position they asked the Texas and Florida voters to give them. Now Cruz needs to put his shoulder to the senate wheel for the rest of his term at least. Then he can pursue whatever interest is worthy of his endeavors. Rubio is an opportunist who has even less going for him than Cruz. Using their senate status to springboard to the office of US president was a disservice to their voters.

CruzBots are cultists and simply are unable to see he’s been Establishment from the beginning. Heidi’s NO BORDERS/NAU is the cherry on top.

"Certainly they can find one decent Republican in the state of Texas to run against Cruz."

A promise of no GOP-sponsored opposition is likely what kept Cruz in past Florida.

If Republican, they will have to have their own money. And organization.

Nay, I say he's unopposed in the primary and beaten in the general by a moderate Democrat.

"Moderate Democrat" will have new meaning AND standing come 2018.

Serves him right if he gets beat. He is no friend to the majority of voting republicans. His own state of Texas put forward this bill a few years ago,

it still sits awaiting to be discussed and a vote. Three republican sponsors (Leo Berman) and 21 republican cosponsors were seeking to block BHO.

House Bill 295: would require future presidential and vice-presidential candidates to produce “the original birth certificate indicating that the

person is a natural-born United States citizen” to the Texas secretary of state. God Bless Texas- get it right for the future of the USA.

Texas needs to work on passing that and so do the other states with similar worded legislation.

“At some point they may decide
they need a full time senator as opposed to one looking for another job.”

A point that his Repubican Challenger needs to impress upon the Texas voters in 2018. Come on Texas, do your duty and rid the country of this worthless illegal-alien.

“Ted Cruz has done little as a senator. Can he point to even one bill that he sponsored that has actually passed? More importantly, can he point to even one bill that he has actually, definitively stopped?”

Ted sCruze is simply an “All White Obama!” They both did/have done the same as US Senators, namely nothing of substance! They both used the US Senate as simply a “wide place in the road” on their way to the Presidency. sCruze accomplished NOTHING as a Senator (except that which facilitated his run for the Presidency)! How people can continue to blindly support this a$$hole shows a suprising penchant for the suspension of disbelief!

Odd the way the totals reversed themselves. Dewhurst lost and Cruz gained with the differences being almost the same between elections.

Primary  5/29/2012
Cruz      480,558 34.16%
Dewhurst  627,731 44.63%

Runoff   7/31/202
Cruz      631,812 56.82%
Dewhurst  480,126 43.18%

Flip the vote with one line of code:

During the Bush governorship in Florida 2000, Curtis is hired by Congressman, Sp. of the House, Republican Tom Finney through Yang Corporation, Ovieda, Florida to write the code.

Clinton Curtis, computer programmer hired to write a program to FLIP THE VOTE - rig the election so the outcome is 51 / 49 , undetectable.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7R1_ixtlyc

His sworn testimony in a hearing in Ohio.

Non detectable, need to check the source code and/or back up the system with a hard copy receipt to be detectable.

I’d almost like to have a chance to vote for Dewhurst again, but he’s still a globalist, that’s why we didn’t elect him. But Ted... Consistent Conservative TPP TPA IRAN DEAL CORKER AMENDMENT Ted, had better clean up and be Trump’s ally in the senate or go home.

I feel your frustration, because I love Texas, too. But you will have a hard time getting rid of this one since he feels it’s his destiny- anoinTED. You better find a republican whose a dirty fighter with lots of $$$. Or the Enquirer had better score a full testimony from one of the babes.

Not to be a KillJoy but, a Dem hasn’t won a senatorial spot in Texas since 1988 with Lloyd Bentson. And that’s a good thang.

Looks like Dewhurst had Bush & Perry backing and 9 years experienced as Lt. Governor w Perry.

Ted had the TeaParty folks & lots of $$$ form Club for Growth (DIck Armey) -5.5 million in ads blitz. Cruz had Palin, DeMint, Santorum, & crazy BECK campaigning for him in down Texas. (Did Sessions help him, too?)

Dewhurst attacked Cruz as inexperienced and beholden to out-of-state pressure groups and Washington insiders.”....TRUE

and “I’m a lifelong businessman and the only true conservative in the race,”said Dewhurst....IDK, is he a conservative?

You guys should have listened to Mr. Dewhurst- I bet he would have been happy to be ‘just another Texas Senator,’ and served Texas with pride.

“One of Mr. Dewhurst’s supporters, Dr. Gary Brock, a pediatric surgeon in Houston, said that Mr. Cruz was too inexperienced at governing”....TRUE

“The DEMOCRATS tried a CHARISMATIC HARVARD-TRAINED ATTORNEY WITH NO RECORD and it HASN’T WORKED OUT TOO WELL FOR THE COUNTRY,” he said.”

NY Times July 31, 2012

2012: Doctor Gary Brock is a brilliant soothsayer, excepting the charisma part:

Ted duplicated Barry right down to hiding his origins, not matching his mouth to his vote, misrepresenting his wife’s views, running for POTUS-asap, lying about his funding & sources,

targeting small party insider caucus states, cheating the vote-Maine, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, & hawking / poaching delegates anywhere and everywhere.

Barry -White:

Just another white barry soetoro haughty harvard law grad 1st time senator globalist-alien non-NBC inexperienced smooth talkin’ delegate poachin’ man.-— w/out CHARISMA

“Somebody tell the Cubanadian he is not eligible.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~
But....but..he’s trying to defend the Constitution - the very document he is challenging by running for president without being eligible to do so.
Do any Cruz supporters wonder about that? Why a man that is a supposed “Constitutional Scholar” - who argued as a Constitution originalist in college - would wait until he decided to prematurely run for president to denounce his Canadian citizenship? You would think he would want to clear that up in the courts before running and possibly causing a problem for the party if he had become a nominee?
Things that make you go hmmmmmm.......
