Corey Lequieu pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy to impede federal officer at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, becoming the first of 26 defendants indicted on the charge to admit using threats, intimidation or force to take over the federal bird sanctuary and keep federal workers out.
Federal prosecutors will recommend that Lequieu spend two-and-a-half years in prison.
Lequieu, 46, must pay restitution to the government, an amount yet to be determined, and waived any right to an appeal. He will remain in custody pending his Aug. 25 sentencing......
As part of the plea deal, the government agreed not to level other federal charges against Lequieu, including felon in possession of a firearm either in Oregon or Nevada, or any potential federal charges stemming from his purported ties to the 2014 Cliven Bundy standoff near Bunkerville.....

Oh please! They were happy for the paid time off. BTW wasn't the refuge office closed for the winter?
Federal employees get a lot of days off but there were employees working somewhere at the refuge on December 30th with December 31st of course being a holiday for them.
They were sent home early that day since informants had already told the FBI about Ammon Bundy’s plans in a general enough way and this caused fear.
Heck, the unarmed Ammon Bundy, who never carried a gun during this protest billed by the media as an ‘armed takeover’ by ‘armed militiants’ or ‘armed militia’ wouldn’t have harmed them at all and said nothing to them as long as they weren’t hurting the livelihoods of the local ranchers.
First up: Find the most vulnerable and make him an offer he can’t refuse.
Yet no Black Lies Matter folks as a group have never been rounded up snd charged in similar fashion.
