Our Left Wing government is attempting to push transgenderism down our throats; making those of us who do not accept this aberrant behavior as normal, transgenderphobes. Now, a top psychiatrist from Johns Hopkins is telling us the truth about what he terms is a mental disorder.
Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a mental disorder that merits treatment, that sex change is biologically impossible, and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.
Dr. McHugh, the author of six books and at least 125 peer-reviewed medical articles, made his remarks in a recent commentary in the Wall Street Journal, where he explained that transgender surgery is not the solution for people who suffer a disorder of assumption the notion that their maleness or femaleness is different than what nature assigned to them biologically.

Thank GOD someone with an alphabet after his name declares what I have known all my life......Trangender’Gender dysphoria is a MENTAL ILLNESS!!!!!! SCREW these dumbass liberals that have not one brian cell of common sense or the ability to read mediical journals!
And why aren’t we reading this is the NYT????
One would almost think that it had an agenda./s
He is simply hating our gay commander-in-chief. That’s all it is.
Ya just have to snip a quarter of a chromosome off each and every cell. Not impossible, but no where near feasible, and the person undergoing the procedure will not survive.
Is it discrimination to not want to be around those with mental disorders? Why be forced to call them normal. Do we have to say the homeless don’t have BO when our nose is screaming that they do?

Subject: Oregon Transgender Policy
The Oregon Department of Education presented their policy interpretation allowing men to enter womens bathrooms and lockers rooms based on current gender feelings. This asymmetrical approach results in a random walk through reflective life. When comforting lights of popular expressions drive decisions, no opportunity remains to consider insights such that as from John Hopkins.
At one time their Sexual Behaviors Consultation Unit conducted candidates through a lengthy preparation process culminating with gender reassignment surgery. Study caused them to question whether any emotional resolution was achieved and they eliminated the practice in 1979. Dr. Paul R. McHugh says, that transgenderism is a mental disorder that merits treatment .These policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention.
Shouldnt transgenderism first be assessed as a medical issue? Women are terribly uncomfortable with a mercurial revelation that they believe violates their inherent natural right to feel safe and private in their persons. This policy provides many the opportunities to indulge in deviant impulses. The policy thrusts a few into intimate political theater where they portray a feeble caricature of a woman, but without evidence of benefit to their psychological condition. Considering John Hopkins experience with reassignment surgery, shouldnt this radical transformation of society await careful review?

I suspect that transgender people are victims of LGBT bullies who have probably had mental and / or physical trauma in their lives.
Corrections, insights welcome.
Why, that’s crimethink Comrade Doctor!
It must be you that’s crazy, so it’s off to Room 101 with you so that you can be made sane again.
The perversion of the original sickness of homosexuality was once considered by the American Psychatric Association to be a mental illness. Before that, it was a crime.
Then it was tolerated, and now they demand acceptance and even approval—after insisting for years that toleration would not lead to, well—where we are now.
I got your “tolerance” right here, ‘verts: let’s start over ...

Glad that this courageous truth teller is retired from practice. If not he would be looking for another job. Who does he think he is telling the truth!
Barry and Mike Obama will demand the doctor be fired.
Trump is gonna be mad.
Do the math....it’s not rocket science.
Joe goes and gets plastic surgery. Joe gets hormone treatments. Joe buys some dresses. Joe goes to Doctor Bob for three years of therapy (once a week)....to get a dose of “you need to pretend you are a woman”. Joe dates some guy who wants a man-gal, but later discovers its only some fad act for the guy and he doesn’t really want a permanent relationship. Joe keeps wondering why he doesn’t feel like a natural woman.
In the US today, I’d take a guess that 500 people would like to transform themselves into Klingons (Star Trek) and they’d do the same treatment as Joe. Is it a mental disorder? Yeah.
I think all we are doing is creating some wave of individual that will come in two or three years crashing down, and be suicidal because they just didn’t get to the change they dreamed of.
At least he doesn’t seem to want to enforce it on states or private businesses. Hopefully.
Hopkins led the way in gender reassignment surgery...now they lead the way in not doing it but treating the underlying mental illness. Reputable hospitals and docs have followed suit
Maybe Ben Carson/ Donald Trump will find him a position....
Forcing me to affirmatively participate in another person’s delusion will not cure their mental illness.
