Where Donald Trump stands on guns
CNN Money ^ | May 17, 2016 | Aaron Smith

Posted on 05/17/2016 2:30:14 PM PDT by Innovative

Donald Trump will deliver a speech to thousands of NRA members at an annual meeting in Kentucky this week. But he wasn't always so pro-gun.

Rather than impose gun control on law-abiding citizens, he wants to imprison gun-toting violent criminals for longer periods of time. Rather than expand background checks, he wants to fix the current system, which he says is "broken."

The lives of innocent animals are included in God's 6th commandment; Thou shall not murder. I'm sure that the leopard in this photo was not going to or about to attack Trump junior and I doubt that Trump junior ate it after killing it. It is my sincere belief that everybody should possess a firearm and that they should be used for protection, non-biological target shooting and hunting only when other meat/food is not available. Firearms freedom is great but this is not what God had in mind when He gave us dominion over the animals of the earth. Murder is murder regardless of the life that is taken and it is reasonable and humane to accept that wild animals have a right to live in their own environment. Of course there are exceptions but there needs to be more of a reason to kill an innocent animal than to just shoot ones gun to see if one can kill what they are aiming at. Yes, one might eat the meat but is that an acceptable excuse to murder when in reality the hunter is not deprived of other kinds of meat? I'm sure to many such as myself, this photo is heart breaking, such a beautiful animal whose life meant less to the shooter just for the sake of shooting his firearm. What a man.

You’re in luck Mate. In this months Guns magazine John Taffin writes about reloading the .32-20. For older revolvers he says a 100 grain Oregon Trail (bullet brand) semi wadcutter over 4 grains of Unique (800 FPS).

Hotter stuff for modern guns (Freedom Arms, Colt SAA) 115 grain Oregon Trail SWC over 10 grains of 2400.

While you make some valid points, there’s another perspective to consider.

Perhaps, just perhaps, the fact that his sons (particularly Don, Jr.) are avid shooters and 2nd Amendment boosters - including liking to hunt exotic animals) was necessary to the evolution of Trump into a pro-2nd Amendment candidate who will prevail over Hillary and go on to restore a lot of our basic rights. Perhaps without his sons’ love of guns and hunting, he’d never have evolved that much, and might not be elected. So, you could look at that particular animal (and, doubtless, others that the Trump boys have shot over their lives) as the cost of restoring freedom and denying a would-be tyrant power in the United States. IF that is the case, then I’d say that those animals died for a worthy cause.

Just remember, G-d knows not only what we are going to choose to do, but ALL of the after-effects of such choices. I don’t presume to know, or to speak for Him, but the above scenario is at least possible.

What utter nonsense.

Your presumption in interpreting God's Word to support your own prejudices is truly Beckian.

The more proactive and successful game preserves in Africa keep exotic animal populations in a manageable state by culling excessive or problematic (elderly, rogue etc.) animals. To raise additional funds for game preservation they will often sell the culling privilege for a given animal to a big game hunter...and that opportunity doesn’t come cheap. Otherwise, the job simply goes to a hired professional hunter or one of the preserve’s own employees...either way, the animal goes.

And the parks/game preserves that don’t follow such proactive procedures are commonly the ones where there’s little done for the animals, and they get slaughtered en masse by poacher gangs with vehicles and machine guns.

Of course. I grabbed the wrong adjective on that one. Not livid - enraged or angry, but avid - enthusiastic, dedicated to support of the Second Amendment.

More than likely that Leopard was a local menace to some third world village. Guys like the Trump boys will pay big bucks to go and shoot rogue animals. It benefits everybody. Its common in Africa, India and SA to let sportsman pay a huge tag fee to go take down a nuisance or rogue animal. Or if an area has too many animals and they need to cull they sell tags. It brings in a lot of money.

PROTECTING OUR SECOND AMENDMENT RIGHTS WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

Donald J. Trump on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

From official Trump site: https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/second-amendment-rights

The Second Amendment to our Constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed upon. Period.

The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesn’t create that right – it ensures that the government can’t take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendment’s purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.

It’s been said that the Second Amendment is America’s first freedom. That’s because the Right to Keep and Bear Arms protects all our other rights. We are the only country in the world that has a Second Amendment. Protecting that freedom is imperative. Here’s how we will do that:

Enforce The Laws On The Books

We need to get serious about prosecuting violent criminals. The Obama administration’s record on that is abysmal. Violent crime in cities like Baltimore, Chicago and many others is out of control. Drug dealers and gang members are given a slap on the wrist and turned loose on the street. This needs to stop.

Several years ago there was a tremendous program in Richmond, Virginia called Project Exile. It said that if a violent felon uses a gun to commit a crime, you will be prosecuted in federal court and go to prison for five years – no parole or early release. Obama’s former Attorney General, Eric Holder, called that a “cookie cutter” program. That’s ridiculous. I call that program a success. Murders committed with guns in Richmond decreased by over 60% when Project Exile was in place – in the first two years of the program alone, 350 armed felons were taken off the street.

Why does that matter to law-abiding gun owners? Because they’re the ones who anti-gun politicians and the media blame when criminals misuse guns. We need to bring back and expand programs like Project Exile and get gang members and drug dealers off the street. When we do, crime will go down and our cities and communities will be safer places to live

Purchase the publication “Pet Loads” by Ken Waters. I’ve recommended that particular book to almost all my customers but there are many other great sources for reloading data.

Biblical facts that would prove the 6th commandment only applies to humans do not exist. And your prejudice is correct, seriously?

I agree, your scenario is plausible and if that is truly the case, the gun owners of America will certainly benefit with D Trump in the WH. I do not put an animal’s life on par with that of a human, even though some humans have proved themselves unworthy of continued life. Your scenario has a similar ring to what Janet Sterno (Reno) said to the congressional committee that investigated the US government’s murders of the Branch Dividian Church members in Waco TX; We had to kill the children in order to save them. How was that a win for anybody but the murderers?
