Open your eyes to the possibility that this election just might not be the landslide some think it will be. Wouldn’t it be great to have all the bases covered?
The black and Hispanic vote are toast. No Republican would get enough of those minorities. Trump might get some Reagan Democrats but I fear that demographic no longer exists.
Best hope is to add more negatives to an already weak candidate in a split party(Dems). There will be an all out effort to reduce voter turnout from both sides.

Very true. Any lawyer worth their salt makes a “list of horribles.” Any pilot who wants to live to fly another day does a thorough risk assessment before taking off. Risk management isn’t a betrayal of loyalty - it’s a necessity if you want to be successful and not be caught off guard... when it’s too late.
Algore is scary to think about at any time, much less during 9/11.
Right, less than 600 votes and people here think there are tens of thousands of votes that Trump won’t need. Maybe. Let’s hope Trump isn’t taking their advice.
I don’t think Trump can say anything to these folks to change their minds.
As a result, his strategy going forward will be to by-pass these voters
who are closed minded.
Will it be enough? I guess we will see.
However, it is my belief that the coalition Trump puts together
will be unlike any in American history. We have seen hints of that
in the primaries.
Who on God’s green earth is saying Trump needs to bow down to anybody? I haven’t heard one person ever say this. Not on TV, not amphibian intermediaries, not even on DU,(I am a lurker((guilty pleasure)) ). Give it a rest.
Agreed! If you haven’t read Bill Sammon’s excellent book “At Any Cost” about his time embedded in the Gore campaign, try to check it out. It is extremely revealing about Gore’s priorities, dishonesty and general disdain for the American people.
Well, he can increase his chances that not all are completely Never Trump and give it a shot.
It couldn’t hurt.
And what do you suggest he do or say that he hasn’t already said?
Well, not to say that he doesn’t necessarily need conservatives (ABC This Week). That would be a good start.
He’s great on most things , but Donald isn’t perfect .
Trump already has tons of support from conservatives.
And what I said about the GOPe is true.
So, he can pick a side.
“You apparently are not real familiar with Steve King. Hes about as outspoken on border issues and amnesty as anyone. Lets stop attacking out allies please.”
Absolutely correct. If it were not for King and Sessions leading the charge, we would have had de jure amnesty already. They have fought every amnesty tooth and nail for years. Nobody is ahead of these two guys when it comes to border security and restricting immigration.
“And what I said about the GOPe is true.”
Your error is associating Steve King with GOPe.
He is as far from that as anyone in Washington.
Supporting Trump or any other candidate; doesn’t mean blind loyalty and suspension of critical thinking skills.
Of course he does. But he hasn’t done much to extend a hand to the other candidates’ voters. Not the GOPe types, but the grassroots conservatives.
If he doesn’t think he needs that block of voters, then that’s his choice.
Good. Then he doesn’t need to act as if Trump hasn’t drawn conservatives. He has.
Well said.
Well, they can either be whining about Teddy losing or pick between Trump and Hillary.
Because that’s probably what it will come down to.
You could be right. Willing to bet the next 8 years on it? It appears that Trump is amore gracious than the NeverCruz people here, and for that I am glad.
Of course he has. But the grassroots conservatives are still split. I am not a GOPe, so I can’t begin to guess what they want.
