GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump referred to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (d-ma) as "Pocahontas" in an interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, she wrote in a piece published Saturday.
Trump told Dowd that he had not been asked by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) in his meeting with him last week to tone down his rhetoric directed at women.
Dowd also asked him if he had been criticized by Republicans for his Twitter feud with Warren.
"You mean Pocahontas? Trump shot back.
Trump and Warren have engaged in a long battle on Twitter, trading barbs over his rhetoric toward women and her Native American heritage.

Liz Warren got her job at Harvard Law School because of her Cherokee heritage. I think we have to accept her claim. The alternative is to think that the people who run the Harvard Law School are a bunch of fools who were easily taken in by a spurious claim and surely we wouldn't want to think that.
Clever inside jokes rarely make good impressions.
Josey Wales: Seems like you was looking to gain some money here.
Lone Watie: Actually, I was looking to gain an edge. I thought you might be someone who would sneak up behind me with a gun.
Josey Wales: Where'd you ever get an idea like that? Besides it ain't supposed to be easy to sneak up behind an Indian
Lone Watie: I'm an Indian, all right; but here in the nation they call us the "civilized tribe". They call us "civilized" because we're easy to sneak up on. White men have been sneaking up on us for years.
Josey Wales: Cherokee, huh?
Lone Watie: Yeah. They sneaked up on us and they told us we wouldn't be happy here. They said we would be happier in the Nations. So they took away our land... ...and sent us here.
Josey Wales: That's what I figured.
Lone Watie: You figured?
Josey Wales: Only an Indian could do something like that.
[Lone Watie hears a gun cock behind him; turns and sees Moonlight]
Lone Watie: It's not right; this damn woman doing something like this to me. I used to have power. Now old age is creeping up on me.
Josey Wales: More like old habits than old age.
I thought that wuz the Fugahwee tribe...

Trump has been playing the media like a fine Stradivarius.
Yet there are some on FR who think they know better how Trump’s campaign should be run.
The first amendment allows such silly talk.
Trump is correct. He was talking to a liberal. You have to establish the normal insult first before you can be creative with the word.
On an episode of Bizarre Foods Andrew Zimmern visited an Indian reservation in north central Maine. In keeping with their traditions, beaver meat is a staple food among these people. Since this area is just a few hours drive from the Boston area and Dizzy Miss Lizzy Fauxcahontas claims to be significantly “Native American”, does she eat beaver? Not insinuatin’ nuttin’, just axin’
Lol
There are definitely white women who loathe Hillary. I think she had a problem with female independents.
What would happen to Affirmative Action Plans and quotas if the white people ALL self-identified as Black or Native American?
on college applications
on job applications.....
She practiced law in Massachusetts without a license for years.
We don’t have to accept her claim. It’s ludicrous and the people running Harvard are deliberately being gullible and foolish. PC over rule common sense and truth and facts with Harvard bureaucrats (and most of their faculty).
Yes, I agree.
