This news just ruined Mitt Romney’s weekend.
How is #NeverTrump supposed to work with millions being donated just like that? Adelson never gave Mitt money like that.

The great mass of people will hear this and will suddenly begin to doubt Trump commitment to building the wall.

if Adelson really wanted to help Trump he would work behind the scenes and never let out a single peep about supporting him.

just doesn’t make sense.

this isn’t shrewd.

I’m ready to donate.

I don’t expect Trump to shoulder this by himself.

He already spent $50 million of his own money, and took out Low Energy Jeb, Li’l Marco, Lyin’ Ted, Vicente Fox and the Pope; he already has Crooked Hillary, Raping Bill and Goofyhontas on the ropes.

Thank you, Mr. Trump!

Adelson strongly backs the wall in Israel.

I do, too.

Adelson opposes the US wall.

Adelson and a u.s. border wall don’t go together.

Once you take money like this, the rest of America will pay the price.

What's the problem?

It's not like Donald Trump, receiving millions from a pro amnesty billionaire, will be "beholden" to him.

Right?

Mixed emotions. I see big money from an Establishment guy going to support Trump, and this says that acceptance has begun to win the day. Also, the money will help fight the Dem superPAC money. OTOH, the campaign has been all about the people, not special interest groups.

I’m OK with this if Trump comes out and says that he will only accept small donations - no $100,000/plate dinners and such - but also says that he can’t stop people who want him in office from donating to PACs. He could also urge the PACs to use the money to fight Dems down-ticket. That would diffuse the criticism of taking big money while also earning some loyalty/support from Congressional Pubbies.

Adelson’s Freedom’s Watch group has some questionable “issues”. For example, working towards legal gun registration.

It will be necessary to spend hundreds of millions to counter the attack ads from the left and to inform the low-information voters about Trump and his positions. As Scott Adams has shown, it’s quite easy to convert people to become Trump supporters, once you present the information to them in the right way.

Adelson was the major supporter of Newt eight years ago, definitely needed to to WIN!

Good. Now that he is the nominee, time for big money to get behind him to beat the Democrats.

A few Trump people need to have a “heart-to-heart” talk with the Koch brothers.

I think those brothers’ first mistake was pronouncing their name like the cola drink. Around these parts, there was a pretty important manufacturing guy with the same spelling who pronounced it rhyming with duck. And the former mayor of NYC pronounced it rhyming with scotch. For what that may be worth.

Interesting if true and if actually occurs. At a minimum, this should signal to soon-to-be-primaried Ryan that his missed his opportunity to get on board.

And what will Mr. Adelson want for his generous contribution? He isn't doing this without a quid pro quo.

When you need a billion dollars to compete, there is no way to be free from special interests. Most knew this from the beginning but many still try to deny this fact.

I’m going to send Trump a donation right after I donate to the Freepathon. He’s going to need all of our help to pay for his general election campaign.
