I believe so.

According to http://www.navytimes.com/story/military/2016/05/12/iran-farsi-island-sailors-capture-firing-rasch-meyer/84225038/

“Cmdr. Gregory Meyer, who was commanding officer at the time of the incident, is currently with Coastal Riverine Group 1, and has been put on “administrative hold,” meaning the Navy will not transfer him out of the unit, while a high-level review of the Navy’s investigation into the incident continues, said two officials familiar with internal deliberations.”

Hope that captured U.S. sailor who answered “Fantastic!” when asked by the Iranian female in the propaganda video how they’d been treated, was at least yelled at and retrained, if not demoted, after their return. If he thought his hyperbole would be seen as too ridiculous to be believed and he’d be viewed as funny/hip, he was foolishly mistaken imo.

That's what my bro said.....there is a lot more visual tools to checking things out.

One of his favorites was being on watch and seeing a periscope emerge miles ahead of them....but his ships turn was in the knick of time because....a thing in motion....

Hell, I have a GPS unit hooked to my purse.

Sounds like the crews might have been playing games...(like we dare you)...

I don’t know what to believe, except the whole incident was a Charlie Foxtrot from the top down.

I seriously doubt the surrender order came from Raush. Or if it did it didn’t originate from him. There’s way more to this whole deal.

What if our Commander In Chief surrendered at Benghazi?

Would he be fired?

Should he be fired?

Fired him?
When did the military system change.
You are not hired or fired. You enlist and you get discharged. Honorably or dishonorably.

I’m sorry, I was misinformed. The blamed commander, Rassh is JOOOOOISH. Odumgo hates Jooos more than he hates Christians.

Er, Rasch is a Jewish name according to Google. The Navy traditionally has discriminated against the Jooos.

" He’ll continue to serve, but Rasch and everyone else knows that he’s now on borrowed time, and will have to start considering his next career sooner rather than later."

“But the Pueblo Incident was on everyone’s mind and that was going to be our response.”

I’d love to know what happened to all of them on that ship.

We wondered why they didn’t resist and whether or not they were told to stand down if approached.

Will never forget the photo of Commander Bucher in the Stars and Stripes.

IMHO

"A Navy official said Rasch failed to provide effective leadership, leading to a lack of oversight, complacency and failure to maintain standards in the unit."

Sounds like the pResident, and grounds for HIS firing.

I am sure there are a couple good books around by now to answer the questions you raised. Below are links to the articles in the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings covering the subject. I have given links to Proceedings articles before, but never knew if the process worked because I had to log in as a member to get to them. If the links work for you, please let me know.
