Isn't democracy wonderful?
(A great rant - See video at link. If you can't vote FOR someone, you can always vote AGAINST someone. There are plenty of scumbags on the ballot to vote against)
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
Pretty much always a good listen. Thanks for posting.
Trouble is, a vote ‘against’ Trump is a de facto vote ‘for’ Hillary.
And Hillary will destroy America, without a shadow of a doubt.
If you haven’t listened to Pat Condell by now, you REALLY need to.
While his atheism is a bit of a turn-off, he respects the choice of others to believe, though he finds islam reprehensible and undefendable.
His rapier wit and incisive critiques are absolutely spot on when it comes to political matters.
I disagree with him on many things, but his intelligence and DEEP moral fibre are obvious and irrefutable.
I would buy the man a beverage of his choice if I ever ran across him, just to hear him digress!
He’s pretty good, I think.
Always look forward to Pat’s videos.
One of Pat Condell’s very, very best. He’s one of those atheists like Penn Jillette who are so well intentioned and magnanimous in their attitude that while you can feel bad that they don’t believe in God, it’s really hard to get mad at them for it,as their character and demeanor is so praiseworthy.
That is his point.
In June I’m voting against Hillary.
They should have just replaced Jeremy on Top Gear with this guy.
I’m voting against someone who is an incurable liar given to impossible promises and by their own words is for increased taxes and pro-abortion among many other awful things.
So who am I voting against with those qualifications?
Hillary?
Bernie?
...or someone else?
Tell me, if you can, what candidates still in play match what I’ve stated?
And are you for more illegals coming in? Immediate amnesty for those already here? Higher taxes for everyone? More welfare? Common core? Open borders? A weaker military? More stupid trade deals? Surrendering our sovereignty to foreign bodies? More cultural rot? Islamization of America? Destruction of our Judeo-Christian traditions and values? Are you for reparation? For more worldwide apology tours? For Black Lives Matter and Occupy Wall Street? Are you a believer in the global warming hoax? Are you for infinitely more regulations? Etc, etc.
So are you for this stuff or against it?
Just want to be sure I fully understand your criteria, so I can advise you on who to vote against of the remaining three people just in case you are so obtuse, spiteful and blind that you can’t see it for yourself.
So, do you still need my help?
No moving the goalposts. Can you or can you not apply those criteria to every candidate listed and at least one candidate NOT listed by name?
What do you mean, no moving the goal posts? Are those the only criteria that matter to you? That is the problem with the NeverTrumpists, they (you) focus on a weakness or two and disregard the many strengths.
You sound like someone who would have trouble choosing between a rusting Pinto, a Yugo with no engine and a Ferrari with a flat tire. That’s about how similarly stark the differences are between those candidates.
My 72 year old sister wanted to talk about Trump yesterday. I try to avoid politics as she leaves CNN on in the background and she says, “I don’t remember where I heard this but (something bad about a conservative.)” The fact that she doesn’t listen to the news but leaves it on for company means her subconscious hears things uncritically.
She is concerned about Trump starting a war with his tough talk. I reminded her that they said the same thing about every Republican and we’ve had fewer wars under Republicans because by sounding tough and acting tough people like Putin don’t send their jets to within 25 feet of our ships because they are afraid of what might happen. It is always better to sound tough than conciliatory.
Another observation is that everything we have heard or read since the candidates declared was written or spoken by somebody who has an agenda. Even your best friend will try to sway you to his candidate. (I cringe when she wants to talk politics.)
People finally waking up to that fact - we might actually win the WH this time around....
You have a point, but consider this... Both candidates on the Democrat side will aggressively persecute the types of people who frequent FR. Not specifically Freepers, but anyone who thinks like us, even a little bit. That is precisely their agenda. For all Trmp’s flaws, and whatever his agenda, I do not believe it is to persecute us.
Trump may or may not appoint pro-life justices. He may or may not cave on immigration. He may or may not bankrupt the country.
But both Hillary and Bernie intend to aggressively promote abortion, every type of sexual, perversion, implement policies any sane person knows will destroy our economy, brainwash our children, and prosecute anyone who even wants to discuss the possibility that anthropogenic climate change may not be real. And if they can put you in prison or kill you in the process, so much the better.
There. I said it. And I believe it. And if you don’t believe it too, then I suggest you get your head out of your personal nether regions.
And yes, I intentionally said persecute, not prosecute. Hillary and Bernie intend to persecute those who hold Judeo-Christian values. It’s already started. And anyone who can’t see it is blind. I suppose it’s theoretically possible that Trump would be even worse, but only in an alternate universe.
So if you want to march to the gallows, that’s fine. But please don’t drag the rest of us along.
Hey, I’m not saying and never will say Democrats are perfect or even better. The only point I’m trying to make is that you could take a fairly decent list of things that any conservative should consider bad (I cherrypicked just an easy few) and if you didn’t name-drop a specific candidate you could put Trump on the list with the Dems and have a very hard time telling just who you were talking about with the given facts.
Yes, you could. And that’s why I didn’t vote for him in the primary. But my guy lost. And cherry picking certain issues leads to a dangerous myopia that we can’t afford. I do not believe Trump is sincere on the pro-life issue. But I know that Sanders and Clinton are. So while it may not be guaranteed that Trump would appoint pro-life justices, it is Guaranteed with a capital G that both Hillary and Bernie will appoint the most aggressively liberal justices they can find.
And have no doubt about it... If they can put you and me in prison, or destroy our lives in some other way, they will do so. Right now the persecution is soft. But before it’s over you can bet it’s gonna get bloody. Literally. Putting people in prison for their beliefs will not satisfy them. They want to be rid of us in as final a way as they can. They want a “final solution” to the values we hold and they hate. They hate us in truest sense of the word and if given the opportunity, they will do what hate demands.
So go ahead and point out Trump’s conservative weaknesses if you want, and undermine his chances of winning. But don’t underestimate the consequences.
You know in your heart that I’m right.
I look forward to voting against the thoroughly corrupt criminal “progressive” Clinton. Thanks for posting. Pat is a gem.
