-- But there also seems to be a toxically vocal, albeit small contingent of dissenters who are stirring up a lot of trouble at the moment. --

The press with amplify the heck out of that dissent, encourage it, probably pay for some of it.

Bill Kristol is still on the third party thing, saying that filing deadlines in Texas and NC are susceptible to falling on a lawsuit, and the he is working with a Republican and a Democrat to explore in detail, including polling. Kristol is disappointed in Ryan sounding open to Trump's candidacy (although if you read the Ryan/Trump release, the unification is behind principles, not behind candidates).

Cruz in part of the #NeverTrump contingent, as is the Bush family, Romney, probably Ryan (but Ryan doesn't yet dare to be open with it).

-- I'm sure there's enough diehards who avidly believe they can still steal the nomination from Trump @ Convention. --

Yep, thousands of them, many of them in position of delegates at the convention.

Took the words out of my mouth. This is media whoring at its best. Trump is a master of it, and they are suckers every time.

Settle down folks, Ryan knows the only leverage he has against Trump is this endorsement, you can’t blame him for trying to see what he can get for it.

Ryan has a primary challenge to think about; if anyone should be hunting for an endorsement at the moment, it is the Speaker if he wishes to keep his job...

Exactly. The establishment is still butt-hurt because they’re going to have to start doing some work. Their days of treating congress as a no-show job are coming to an end. Oh, and Paul Ryan is finished as speaker. I’d fire that puke tomorrow if I could.

Blah blah.

Will Ryan continue to fund 0bamaCare?

Will Ryan demand continued funding of the Executive Amnesty he so graciously gave to 0bama?

Will Ryan require continued funding of Common Core?

What Ryan means as “conservative” is extremely questionable. With absolutely NO specifics, all we have is the RINO Caucus mouthing words so that nobody (including Trump) upsets their gravy train.

Ryan is a POS whiny cry baby whose first line of defense is a tantrum.

“The press with amplify the heck out of that dissent, encourage it, probably pay for some of it.”

Yes, they’ve already been doing that. Doesn’t seem to be terribly effective—yet. It might also backfire some and make Trump more popular, if the wrong people are seen as being against him.

“Bill Kristol is still on the third party thing, saying that filing deadlines in Texas and NC are susceptible to falling on a lawsuit, and the he is working with a Republican and a Democrat to explore in detail, including polling.”

Someone probably needs to have a ‘talk’ with that guy and persuade him out of it.

“Kristol is disappointed in Ryan sounding open to Trump’s candidacy (although if you read the Ryan/Trump release, the unification is behind principles, not behind candidates).”

Sneaky rats.

“Cruz in part of the #NeverTrump contingent, as is the Bush family, Romney, probably Ryan (but Ryan doesn’t yet dare to be open with it).”

I figured as much. And I think Ryan needs to be compelled into resigning. ASAP.

I would’ve advised Trump to tell them to bugger off, and that it’s time for those career sellouts to go away and never be heard from again.

This why Trump is the master negotiator and you are not.

I don't trust Ryan, I think he's stalling until they figure out a way to steal it from Trump at the convention.

Ryan asked for this meeting. It was probably designed to blunt the negative feeling in the country toward Ryan.

Ryan was the one who asked for the meeting, so your premise is wrong.

Isn’t it funny how last fall Trump was getting grief from the party leadership for not ‘signing the pledge’ that he’d support the eventual party nominee.

Now that he’s the eventual party nominee those damned hypocrites won’t support HIM!!!

Paul Ryan deserves to be primaried and I hope that happens. He deserves it.

Ryan still does not endorse Trump.

Ryan comes off like the fool and idiot two-faced double-talker that he is.
