Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, doesn’t talk all that much about education issues, but when he does, it is usually about the Common Core, rankings and spending. And usually he is wrong, wrong and wrong.
In one Trump ad this year, he hit all three in just a few sentences:
“I’m a tremendous believer in education. But education has to be at a local level. We cannot have the bureaucrats in Washington telling you how to manage your child’s education. So Common Core is a total disaster. We can’t let it continue. We are rated 28th in the world, the United States. Think of it, 28th in the world. And, frankly, we spend far more per pupil than any other country in the world. By far. It’s not even a close second.”

When I was taught, it was at a locally elected. The teachers knew every kid and their parents. The parents knew the teacher and his background it had flaws but it worked.
We were taught to think.
I’ve seen her kind too often for my liking.

Me, too! Too many liberal women with an agenda, obnoxious, arrogant, and committed to Common Core. I was so happy to retire!
Unlike Valerie, I know ALL ABOUT COMMIE CORE, have seen the lessons plans, ALL OF THE EXAMPLE, FOR EVERY GRADE, for several years and understand exactly WHY every single thing about COMMIE CORE harms children and STINKS ON ICE!

As much as we spend on education we should be ranked top five minimum across the board in every segment...
Imho, if the president’s cabinet consists of the War dept, the State dept and the Commerce dept, we would spend less, and the private sector would earn more.
Also abolish the Fed minimum wage, income taxes never exceed 10%, I could go on and on...

Common Core is dead because department of education will be 3 people and an old underwood typewriter. Get to a real job. valerie. We are actually going to teach little know history — like WWII and VietNam and Korea.

If Common Core and our educational systems were so great, why are we importing people to fill jobs here in the USA? Because our workers aren’t smart and trained enough.
