While we putz around in this country, losing our minds over petty B.S., the world burns. Anybody in the mood for some civil war, south of the border style? Think we got problems at the border now, just wait.

Of course they shot him... Of course they did. This is what communist fascism always devolves into no matter what titles you give it. And we’re really not that far behind.

This story lacks the basic who (not his name, who IS he), what(does this mean), and why (Maduro had him killed or he was buggering a child?).
Doesn’t seem to be widely reported, was this guy a credible threat to the retarded bus driver that 45% of AMERICANS would vote for?

You can expect this to happen when a country runs out of toilet paper and beer.

I feel badly for the people there, but what a fabulous demonstration of the wonders of socialism. With even a decent government, the people there could be among the most wealthy in South America, if not the wealthiest. Now, they can’t even wipe themselves properly in a lit bathroom.

There’s no doubt in my mind that this was organized and carried out by the govt there. Remember, he was in opposition to the sitting govt and gaining support among the people. So he had to go.

You're right, the story is pretty light on those important details. Fox lifted it from a Spanish language site, so I couldn't go further into it. Will probably have to let this shake out over the next day or two to get a true feel for the significance of this event. Generally speaking though, political assassinations in a country on the brink can't be good for business.

Yeah, lousy article. I think the upshot is down there it is Marxism vs. Marxism Lite and one of the later got killed.

In South Florida there are SOS Venezuela signs all over cars.
Not sure how this will play out here. A lot of Venezuelans have crossed over into Colombia...they are treated very well there as allies.
We here in the state too often compare other Latins with mexicans...

This is pretty much how the Spanish Civil War started - the Army leaders didn’t revolt against the Stalinist government until the Stalinist government assassinated Calvo Soleto, the leader of the opposition in Las Cortes. That was the last straw.....
