Usually, the admission of another rich child of privilege to the selective liberal finishing school known as Harvard is a non-story. But in the case of Malia Obama, it provides yet another example of the cynical elitism of modern liberals.
FULL STOP: This is where liberal liars will try to distract you from the glaring hypocrisy of the elite by accusing me of attacking the innocent child of Barack Obama. It’s unclear whether this reflexive misdirection is the result of them being too stupid to understand an argument or whether they are simply falling back on their default move, dishonesty, or whether it is some combination of both. I’m better on the latter.
Now, Malia may well be fully qualified for Harvard in the way some other young person would need to be – through grades, activities and talents. We don’t know, any more than we know her father’s grades at any of the revered institutions of higher indoctrination he allegedly attended. But what is interesting was the immediate assumption on social media that her admittance was something to congratulate her on, as if there was any doubt that the daughter of a rich, liberal president was going to get into whatever elite college she chose. She’s not a student; she’s a status symbol. Take that, Yale!
And take that, West Point! The special snowflakes of the elite don’t join the military. That’s for lesser mortals. Let them dirty their hands protecting the ungrateful and smug mandarins of the coastal elites. No, the elite’s spawn’s glorious presence on our soil is service enough. Tens of thousands of regular Americans will earn their GI Bill carrying rifles in places that will not appear on any rich kid’s itinerary. In contrast, Malia will spend her “gap year” in a festival of self-actualization traveling the world unraveling the mystery that is Malia.

Harvard and its academic siblings, American culture’s spoiled institutional trust fund children, fully intend to safeguard their position as the conformity factories manufacturing America’s leadership class. They are an assembly line of indoctrination that bolts together elitists out of socialism, amorality and entitlement, and then sets them loose on American society reeking of that new snob smell. These graduates are mostly liberal, but the elite universities also graduate many of our conservative leaders, to the extent there are conservative leaders anymore in the wake of the Trump Schism.
Not a lot of the Trump Train’s passengers went to Harvard, though if he wins the nomination we’ll certainly see enterprising Ivy League grads trying to weasel their way into positions of power in the new order. Trump’s rebellion is a visceral reaction to the kind of power and privilege Harvard represents, and to the shameless entitlement of the class into which Malia Obama and a few thousand other budding Veruca Salts are annually invited.
The rest of us are permanently left on the outside of the velvet rope. And we are getting tired of it.
It’s odd that the left is not recoiling to the shameful elitism this latest example demonstrates. It really shows that the Sanders insurgency was less about reforming the system than about the suckers demanding a few more scraps from the elite’s table. All they wanted was to be bought off with subsidized college. They were not interested in overturning the table; they simply wanted a place at it.
What is most shameful is how the elite talks such a great game about education and the plight of inner city minority children, then leaves those same kids to the mercy of incompetent hacks in schools mired in chaos and dysfunction. The elite chooses the unions over the kids every single time because union slugs vote and contribute and little black kids in the inner city don’t.
Malia went to private school, of course. No parent with an option would send their kids into the hellhole of the Washington, D.C. education cesspit, and that’s really the point. The elites deny poor kids any help – no charter schools, no teacher accountability, no prioritizing learning over union featherbedding. They’ll sacrifice your kids for their own power, but their kids? Their kids get the education yours deserve too.
So congratulations, Malia, on your golden ticket into the elite. Good for you – in the sense that everything liberals like your parents do will be good for you and for people like you. Everyone else, though? Well, we don’t matter.
There’s your first lesson in liberalism. See, just because you take a gap year doesn’t mean you can’t learn something.
She can have it. I’d rather go to a trade school without the socialist propaganda.
And after four years she will come out with no real learning, just propaganda in her otherwise empty skull.

Apparently she can’t even handle a liberal arts major there with sympathetic professors.
Harvard’s been servicing the spawn of bigshots for hundreds of years. That’s their business model and it has been highly successful.
I’m sure we’ll all be lucky enough to hear the likes of Ellen Degeneres gush over the “amazing” Malia five years from now when she’s out pimping her pet cause. Just like the “amazing” Chelsea Clinton.
I was told she went to the elite and selective Sidwell Friends school in Washington DC ( the same school Chelsea Clinton went to ).
If she still needs remedial work after that, then even that elite high school is wanting.
You assume she’ll actually attend any classes in person. I posit that it’s far more likely she’ll take most of the same “classes” her father took, which he somehow passed without anyone recalling having ever seen him in the classroom.
She’ll be granted a degree in “Political Science” or some similar wonk profession and start walking the same path Chelsea Clinton and so many other descendants of the US political elite have trod, landing immediately upon graduation a surprisingly-well-paying position at some quiet think tank.
All the ‘right’ schools didn’t help Chelsea Clinton. She got entree to good jobs but didn’t know how to take them anywhere, and was eventually shown the door. Kids whose parents do everything for them and ease the way are NOT helping in the long run.
This reminds me of a character on 30 Rock, a TV show that occasionally mocked liberals: Toofer. She’s a toofer.
I know someone who remembers seeing Obama on campus when she was at Occidental.
I would love to know her grades and test scores.
What are the odds that Malia discovered that there is no way that Sidwell Friends wants to flunk the black daughter of the 1st black president and she was allowed to skate her way through her years there?
I hate to say it but, what will Barry do if she gets pregnant before she starts?

Those of us living in Alaska don’t really want them.
I think the Obamas paid through the nose to have a good student there.
I have problems with affirmative action which basically has partially destroyed the hopes and dreams of minorities to have good jobs.
What I have seen in USC as an example was minorities let in due to their minority status and not for their intelligence. But this isn't State College and all these unprepared students failed to graduate and dropped out.
This is HORRIBLE because they could have easily graduated most State College systems and made money in life. Instead Affirmative action screwed them.
The same money behind the Clinton Foundation is behind Harvard University. They shouldn’t be trusted with our kids any longer.
Back in the antediluvian age, I got into the Ivy League based on excellent qualifications, PLUS coming from a State that was under-represented in the Ivy League. With continuing hard work and by making an actual contribution to science, I ultimately was awarded a Ph.D. from Harvard.
That was the way a student from a middle-class family made it into the Ivies. There were different rules for the elite, as there still are.
Nowadays, “geographic preference” is NOT based on coming from an under-represented State, but from the “right” country or “minority”. China is in NO WAY “under-represented’, but LOTS and LOTS of students are admitted from China—to Harvard and all the other Ivies and near-Ivies.
When I went to college and graduate school, they did NOT teach the bogus thing now called “diversity”, or require students and faculty to follow its dictates. Even by the time that I was doing research and teaching as a faculty member in a near-Ivy university, one had to “watch what one said” about “gays”, feminazis, and minorities.
In 2016, transsexuals and muslims have been added to the mix. And one can get a degree—even from Harvard—in “diversity” studies, and learn absolutely NOTHING!!!! As for contributing to knowledge or culture—forget about it!!!!
Nevertheless, the children of the elite are socialized by their peers and professors to be leaders of the elite classes. It’s too bad that these mis-leaders will know next to nothing and will be ill-prepared emotionally and spiritually for real leadership.
A Trump presidency may help to turn this all around—by the help of God!!!!
I would HARDLY call Harvard the GOLDEN ticket more like a liberal bastion of PROPOGANDA even if I were able to send a child there, over MY COLD DEAD BODY would I allow them to cross that threshold!!!!!
