[I]n the case of Paul Ryan he made a big mistake today and he needs to understand this, Gingrich said. He is the Speaker of the House. He has an obligation to unify the party. He has an obligation to reach out. Obviously he and Donald Trump are going to have disagreements. Some of them will work out and some of them they wont. Thats fine. Our constitution provides that speakers and presidents can fight, but I think he sends the wrong signal and a signal which I think endangers the House Republicans and endangers the Senate Republicans.

Likewise.
As speaker, Ryan is putatively a leader of the party, but he acts as though the party is supposed to tell the people what will be, as opposed to the other way around. While this malady is hardly unique to Ryan, it is something that needs to be remedied now, rather than later.
Yes, a great role for him.
Needs to get it kicked, publically, repeatedly.
Also, I suspect Trump will be running against Sanders or Biden... not Hillary. Newt knows the pitfalls of Socialism and he knows insider ‘ways’. He would be good against either Sanders or Biden.
Someone needs to get this poll to Paul Ryan and the other prima donnas of the Republican Party...
The solution is SIMPLE: REPLACE RYAN.
Now that’s an interesting thought.
I think Newt might be the best alternative that Trump has for VP.
I disagree. Simply and solely because of age. Chief of Staff, oh, yes! But I hope Trump picks a patriot just ahead of his or her prime years, and grooms that person as a successor.
Trump has groomed he successor, Ivanka. She is running his companies, her own companies and she would make a good role model and first woman President.
Ivanka was with him on TV, in business she got him the DC Post Office deal and others, also, she went to the Wharton School at the U. of PA. Ivanka just had her 3rd kid, she is already up 2 kids on Hillary. Ivanka was a model and is very well spoken. Now she will learn all about politics.
Hey, I could look at that face for 8 years. She is a smart cookie. And she is more polished than DJT, she would be a good choice in 8 years if she is interested.
Thanks Romans for being forgiving...
Ivanka and baby Joseph.....second of three.
Yep, Newt as Chief of Staff if he’ll accept. If not, maybe a cabinet position.
Yeah but do you have a horse?
Well, it’s a good idea....but I have my doubts Ryan will even understand the seriousness of it.
Are you suggesting Ivanka for VP? Interesting idea... She would make the most amazing first woman President. And as VP she could ‘learn the ropes’ while still having time for her children.
I have to admit, I never considered the possibility... Once mentioned Eric Trump... well, worth thinking about.
It’s not about Ryan. It is about all of those Republicans who didn’t support Trump. He is giving them cover. Quite Frankly Trump might know this is the best and probably only way to do it.
Do you expect congressman Steve King from Iowa will turn around and endorse Trump in a day? Should he just clean out his desk and leave? Of course not. Trump has to assemble a coalition that will vote for him. He doesn’t do that by demanding it.
Please reply to this post. I really want your thoughts.
Newt brings a tone of baggage, like being forced to resign over trumped up ethics charges...Not sure our stupid voter would understand “ Duh, but he resigned about somethin’”
But Chief of Staff? No brainer...he’d have the dumbles on the run for a generation...,
Snowflake Freepers.
Pathetic.
Bounce him.
At first when he was VP nominee in 2102 I wasn’t sure about him but I’ve gradually come to distrust him and now I flat out don’t like him. Hope he’s gone soon.
Whatever happened to the “Liberty Coalition”? I believe what happened and what will always happen is people in power for more than one or two terms lose sight what’s best for America’s future and focus mainly on their own political future.
Get non-government types from all over our great country in there in Congress for a real change for the better - but they must first have a fundamental grasp of the Constitution - NOT what they call “Constitutional Law” in law school, which has little to do with the actual Constitution, but the Constitution as written and originally understood and intended.
