This is why the “gotcha” game on any particular issue does not resonate with the voters. We recognize at least on an intuitive leel that this election is about a fundamental concept, not about individual positions on this issue or that one.

No, the voting was yesterday, Thursday, but the counting is going on today and the results will be known in a few hours time (about 5 pm MGT on Friday).

London became the first major Western capital to elect a Muslim mayor as Labour claimed victory for its candidate Sadiq Khan despite setbacks elsewhere in Britain for the main national opposition party.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn hailed Khan’s win over Conservative Zac Goldsmith, after a bitter campaign in which Prime Minister David Cameron sought to link Khan to Islamic extremists.
