The West Virginia Coal Association is putting its weight behind Donald Trump for president.
Members of the group, which represents companies in coal mining and related industries, voted Thursday to endorse the presumptive Republican nominee, days before West Virginias presidential primary.
Trump has said he will reverse the Democratic regulatory assault that has cost the coal industry more than 40 percent of our production and jobs since 2008, Bill Raney, the groups president, said in a statement.
In contrast, Hillary Clintons proposals essentially double-down on the job killing Obama policies, he said. West Virginia cant afford that and neither can the nation.
The coal group said it believes that with Trump in the White House and Republican Bill Cole as West Virginias governor, the state will be able to recover from President Obamas War on Coal.
Coal has taken center stage in the run-up to West Virginias primary. The state has been hit particularly hard in recent years by the coal industrys decline, which is due to a combination of factors like competition from natural gas and regulations.
Clinton is actively trying to shake off an anti-coal image, which she earned in part during a March event where she said she would put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.
Trump, meanwhile, has pledged that West Virginias coal industry would thrive under his presidency, although he has identified few policy changes that would enable that.
Were going to get those miners back to work, he said at a recent event. The miners in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, which was so great to me last week, and Ohio and all over, theyre going to start to work again. Believe me. Youre going to be proud again to be miners.
Trump has pledged to review many of the regulations from Obamas Environmental Protection
I saw a truck with a giant windmill blade on the highway today, a common sight here these last few years.
I expect I won’t be seeing them anymore three years from now.
Go coal!
Go Trump!
Wait until the unions find out how many of their members are voting for Trump. Heads will explode.
About one-third of our electricity is generated by coal, the same amount by natural gas, one-fifth from nuclear, and the rest from hydro-electric, oil, and "green" sources. Coal's market has been shrinking as the price of natural gas has dropped.
Can't repeated often enough. Only two other states can claim the same honor and both are places where a Democrat would have trouble getting elected dog catcher.
Amen...I truly believe Trump can turn around the disastrous last 8 years of 0bama, it’ll take time but I think he will.
Boom! :)
We already have WV. Trump needs to turnover Mancin to our side.
Lots of folks in these areas lost their jobs due to the Coal Industry Killing regulations that Obama's EPA forced through. And that is one of those things that caused lots of other businesses to falter like electrical and mechanical contractors to fix mining equipment and so on.
I expect oil industry to endorse Trump and defense industry as well! That is big, big money and power.
Trump will set things right. Hopefully hell put Americas stalwart Sarah Palin to head up the EPA (unless its dissolved) or the Dept of Energy.

Set Sarah loose in the EPA. Wow! What a show that would be.
Note to self - if Trump wins, buy coal stock the next day.
dissolve the evil EPA, so it cannot be resurrected under another administration.
YES!!!!!!!!!!
Obama won PA twice.
I live here, get around a lot, listen a lot. Trump will win PA.
Where I come from they would say Hillary just pooped in her mess kit.
Pretty much there will be more states added to the big win by Trump come November simply because Hillary just does not know how to lead.
we’ve chatted before, I think :)
you better be right!!!!
or i’ll gain 10 pounds on election night and down a bottle of JD.
That second part’s not as unusual as the first...
Yes; I always take note of Staten Island folks. :) And Italians. :)
(Ancestors from both places.)
that was it!!
Yep, I had thought of other ways of putting it that were actually much worse than yours but utilized restraint. LOL!
