That’s been pretty much common knowledge for several months now. Self-fund the primary only, and then he’d need to get donors for the General.

I doubt Trump could come up with $1 billion cash. He may own real estate worth $10’billion but anyone in the real estate business knows that those in the business are very illiquid typically.

He actually said that when he first got in the race.

I wouldn’t expect him to unless Hillary financed her own.

This is why Trump is successful. He analysis the opportunity, he finds a way to differentiate himself from the competition, he has passion, he is flexible, he isn’t afraid to change tactics when necessary, and he does not quit.

I hope that Trump follows the Bernie model and targets small donors.

I think Trump has a plan. Something original that no one else has ever considered. :-)

No surprise that Trump will not self-fund his general election. This has already been discussed over the past several months. I just hope he can control the party sufficiently that the campaign and party spending is as smart as he has done so far.

"Donald Trump won’t self-fund his general-election campaign.."

No surprise; I remember he mentioned this long time ago.

I was just thinking today, that now is the time for us to open our wallets for Trump. He’s carried most of the financial burden alone, up til now.

Now that he’s our standard bearer, it’s time for all of us to kick in with whatever we can. I certainly will.

Good. Trump should only fund his own campaign if hillary does, which even if she did, her money would have originated from foreign donors through her foundation. The woman should be in JAIL, not on the campaign trail.

Also, I will never send one dime to the GOP again. Any money coming from this house goes directly to the candidate. Trump may be able to talk his rich friends into handing over their hard-earned money to cut-throat, ignoramus bozos in the RNC, but not me. Never, ever again. It goes straight to a candidate.

At least half of which was anti-Trump

Understandable but he then loses his strongest selling point with voters that he's not a donor puppet.

But, if he loses to Hillary he'll be glad he didn't self-fund the general.

His campaign website has always had a link for donations.

Maybe I will donate in the near future.

From what the article says, I do not think that Trump is going to sell out to special interests. It looks like he is going to solicit from people he already knows.

We knew this from the beginning. One can see the money game that was played by the other 17 candidates.

Would still like to know about the Cruz/Carly $500,000.
