opus
Impatiently waiting for Bruce Wayne to grow up and sprout his wings.
:)
The vitriol is defintely worse than the last election cycle. There is no longer any room for discussion around here anymore. Most of the election threads boil down to “rah, rah, rah, F-you!”
BTTT, take a break and come back. Go lurk, stop posting for a bit. Worked for me.
Geez, has anyone been keeping an opus count? This is the third one that I know of in 24 hours.

-—— I have been “asked” to opus out.——
Hmmm...... Who made such a demand?
If FR consists now of 5,000 posters who support Trump and 800 who do not,
and by September it consists of 5,000 who support Trump and zero who do not, I guess that's "coalescing" in a way.....

Cruz: The Second Amendment is not simply about hunting or target practice. Its about protecting our lives, families, and homes. When citizens cease to have the right to defend ourselves, we cease to be free. And now, more than ever, as radical Islamic terrorists seek to attack Americans on our own soil, Americans right to protect our families and communities is all the more critical to our safety and freedom.
Trump: The Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that belongs to all law-abiding Americans. The Constitution doesnt create that right it ensures that the government cant take it away. Our Founding Fathers knew, and our Supreme Court has upheld, that the Second Amendments purpose is to guarantee our right to defend ourselves and our families. This is about self-defense, plain and simple.
Cruz: Its not that we dont know how to solve illegal immigration. What is missing is the political will to get it done. As President, Ted Cruz will do what he says. He will stop illegal immigration. He will build a wall that works, triple border security, and put in place the surveillance and biometric tracking to secure the border.
Trump: 1. A nation without borders is not a nation. There must be a wall across the southern border. 2. A nation without laws is not a nation. Laws passed in accordance with our Constitutional system of government must be enforced.
I could go on, but they also agree with each other on the main points that FedGov is too big, that Obamacare needs to go, and that Israel is and should be treated as an ally, along with many (but not all) other issues.
That is close enough that they should be friends and allies - and so should their supporters.
For contrast, here’s Kasich, all positions being his primary stance, not isolated comments taken out of context:
- Kasich voted for the Assault Weapons Ban. https://grabien.com/file.php?id=53463 and as of last year did not regret that vote
- Kasich supported and implemented Obamacares Medicare expansion http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/john-kasich-bible-medicaid_us_56140a54e4b022a4ce5fb1e3
- Kasich supports Amnesty for illegals. http://www.ontheissues.org/John_Kasich.htm
- Kasich dismissively said Christian bakers should bake the cupcake and participate in a gay parody of the sacrament of marriage, even if it violates their religious beliefs. https://www.frcaction.org/updatearticle/20160225/kasich-pushes
- Kasich supports Obamas nominee for the Supreme Court. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/john-kasich-id-consider-nominating-merrick-garland-supreme-court-election-2016/
Trump and Cruz are more like each other than either is like Kasich/Jeb/Christie/Rubio.
What a silly drama queen. You seem to be making a huge deal out of leaving a “heretic” site instead of running as fast as you can from it.
you were asked to opus out by how many people name Robinson ?
Youve been here THAT long and THAT was your opus? You should be zotted for such a bad opus :)
A point many need to keep in mind. I have taken a bit of a break myself from what this board has devolved to. I still think that the majority of Freepers would have been happy with either candidate but the die-hards on both sides have forgotten who the real opponent is: the big government statists in both parties and not each other. I have mostly liked what Trump and Cruz have both said on policy matters and agree that there is not much difference; but, I leaned Cruz mainly because Boehner and McConnell hated him so he had all the right enemies. Now, it appears that both are behind Cruz but I know that is just a sham to get to a contested convention. They have no intention of supporting either Cruz or Trump. At this point, however, I think that the writing is on the wall for Cruz and I hope that he realizes it before the convention and throws his support and delegates to Trump to coalesce the anti-establishment vote.
I'm hopeful that Cruz knows exactly what he is doing. I would like to see him continue, even though his odds of winning on the first ballot or a later ballot are near zero, for tactical reasons. The first time I think it would be acceptable to admit that he's lost would be after the convention rules are decided and approved by the delegates. I want Cruz still in the race as the establishment makes their final, hopefully unsuccessful, effort to stop Trump.
I have been to many conventions. For Trump's sake, I prefer that Cruz drop out at a very specific time, but I won't go into that much detail until that time comes.
The time to cease is after the deal is made
The time for one side to cease attacking Trump and his supporters, and for the other side to cease attacking Cruz and his supporters? The time for Cruz to cease campaigning? The time to cease driving non-Trump Freepers out? Sorry, but that was too brief for me to get your point, and I would like to know what you meant.
If you are going to opus, bring the heat. Make it all about you and them make it all about you leaving. The place won’t last 10 minutes without you. You’ll go blind and then we will all be sorry.
Then create another name and go around saying “I sure miss ole WhatHisName”
—— I would like to know what you meant——
If Cruz has something he wants and actually has some leverage, Trump makes deals. Cruz should cease after his deal for what he wants is made.
Of course, if Trump has enough delegates, the deal is probably not necessary
It means that the Constitution was designed with that kind of people in mind, and wouldn’t work well with a different kind of people. In other words, the ultimate responsibility for the direction of the country lies with the people and not the government.
Well I know that he didn’t come close to displacing Alice, no matter how brilliantly Steve L wielded his rhetorical sword.
Maybe if was revealed to be a Doberman posing online as a human...
