Former Texas governor, Rick Perry denounced his colleague Ted Cruz and officially sided with Donald Trump.
Perry appeared on ABCs The View and shocked the country when he did not side with Cruz who hails from his state.
Texas loyalty has helped the Cruz campaign for some time and this change is a massive defeat for Lyin Ted. At first, Perry seemed reluctant to fully praise Donald. He specified that some of Trumps brash insults worry him and he wishes Donald could adopt a more serious tone. However, Trumps positives clearly outweigh his occasional outbursts because Perry formally told reporters that at the end of the day he would vote Trump!
Perry continued to warn viewers about the risky policies Clinton is proposing. As a strong republican, Rick believes that Clintons need to empower Washington and strengthen the federal government could crush the American way.
Cruz has yet to comment on the betrayal. Certainly, the Trump Train is happy to welcome any newcomer to the campaign. Donald is prepared to change the country and he wants each and every citizen to help him make America great again!
Trying to follow this:
So Perry endorsed Cruz several months ago, right?
Now Perry is endorsing Trump?
Somehow I’m reminded of the presidential debate in 2012 when Perry couldn’t remember the cabinet departments he wanted to shut down. He’s a funny guy. Maybe he forgot he endorsed Cruz?
I thought Perry endorsed Cruz a few weeks back.
V.P. Perry?
He did ok until he said those of us that didn’t believe in freebies for illegals were heartless. He tanked after he said that.
“who are the two girls?”
Perry’s wife and daughter. Pretty ladies!
What a CROCK!
This story has NO SUBSTANCE!
oh...just like Donald.
Kathy Lee Gifford. The young’n is her daughter with Frank Gifford, Cassidy.
I feel as if I am lost in a dream. Hard to believe.
I have it on good authority that he's not going to run.
Kathie Lee Gifford is one of them, I believe.
Yet, after spending most of his time on the show arguing that Trump is a non-serious, reality show candidate, Perry did finally admit that he will vote for the Republican over Hillary Clinton.
I will, I will, at the end of the day, I will, Perry said. Senator Clinton has a different philosophical view than I do about what governments role is. She believes the government and Washington, D.C., needs to be even strengthened more and more power put into Washington, D.C. I disagree with that and I disagree with it powerfully.
I think so, too. After watching Cruz for a few weeks, I decided that the USA just wasn't ready for him to be president for a variety of reasons. Also thought his ticket to higher office should be as Trump's VP so the nation could become accustomed to him as VP and able to support for president later.
He might have blown his political future with so many peculiar and mostly self-serving statements and moves in recent months.
Me too. LOL!
Perry still backs Cruz.
This is a misrepresentation of what was said.
Perry said he would vote for Trump if he were the nominee.
Blog pimping.
Also isn’t he part of the Establishment?
I saw the clip — he said he WILL support Trump in the end, meaning, I think, presuming Trump is the nominee, in response to one of the women saying “I haven’t heard any of your people saying you will back him”, ‘at the end of the day.’
Cruz could have said that, as would most any Republican — it would mean he will support the nominee.
