NBCs Luke Russert spoke with Donald Trumps advisor, Paul Manafort, following a meeting between Trumps campaign and members of Congress. Manafort comments on Ted Cruzs pick of Carly Fiorina as his running mate and responds to Trumps woman card comments.

After Tuesday, with CNN now showing CNN Trump with 52 total delegates likely in PA (and it is likely that that number will go higher, probably over 60 before all is said and done and once they vote at the convention):

Current delegate count according to them, and I have found them to be fairly accurate is:
Trump: 991
Cruz: 568
Kasich: 154

I expect Trump will go well over the top (probably by 60 or more delegates at this point), on June 7th.
I say all of this as one who diligently supported Cruz. But the truth on the ground is what it is.
Now, if Cruz is interested in the GOP nominee (without any e) winning in November, then he needs to concede next week after Trump (in all likelihood) takes Indiana.
I pray to God that is what he will do. He has the power to:
1) Unite the party by so doing.
2) Deliver a huge blow to the GOPe by so doing.
3) Set up for a big GOP November win.

I understand JR’s and others’ (including my own) desire to see Trump and Cruz kiss and make up and hopefully at some point they do that.
At the beginning of this thing last year, I felt almost equally about Cruz and Trump, but found myself leaning towards Trump because I liked his candor but I also liked Cruz’s seeming ardency of the Constitution.
But the more I’ve seen and heard of Cruz, the less I’ve liked. I really don’t like listening to him, for a lot of reasons. Nevertheless, for the sake of helping Trump to skewer Hillary, I hope Trump and Cruz become allies at some point.
Two very unlikeable people and get this.
Carley Sneed was born in Texan, but pretends she’s a Californian, although she actually resides in Virginia ... lol... while Rafael Cruz was born in Canada and represents the state of Texas in the U.S.Senate.
She does bring one asset to his campaign: at 5’6”, she IS an important 2 inches shorter than his meager 5’8” height.
I meant TEXAS, NOT Texan.
“Carley Sneed was born in Texan, but pretends shes a Californian, although she actually resides in Virginia ... lol”
OK sweetie, you owe me 2 aspirin....
“Carley Sneed”
Well at least it wasn’t Carley SNODGRASS.
I don't like Snarly, but she is a bigger man than Ted.
In that regard, I do respect her manliness.
My experience is that gender is not an indicator of leadership.
Some women can lead men and women into battle. Maggie Thatcher was one.
My Mom was one of those.
Snarly is a warrior. Unfortunately, she is also a corporate whore.
Ted Cruz staying now is only helping Hillary and making Marco Rubio seem like a reasonable person again.
Ted you lost - Big time your career is over but thank you for exposing the false conservative pundits and shills.
If the tables were turned and it were any other candidate leading and Trump with Cruz's number the party would demand they get out (weeks ago)
Cruz is now a Hillary Enabler - pack it in you phoney
I not so much desperation but “what else is there to do?”
I’ll look into that , thank you.
Lolol.....I’ve been saying Delusional cRuz will now choose his fantasy cabinet.
Spot on!!
Cruz is staying till the bitter end.

She’s not his “running mate,” but his “limping mate.” - Ann Coulter
Her voice reminds me more of a cawing crow.
Fiorina, who got about 2% in the early primaries, would add nothing to a (very) hypothetical Cruz ticket, except another example of how the GOP pathetically keeps trying to outdo the Democrats at playing the gender, race, and ethnicity cards. They really should stop, liberal Democrats are so much better at it.
