2016 Presidential election
Much of the discussion and laughs focused on Boehners views on the current presidential candidates. Segueing into the topic, Kennedy asked Boehner to be frank given that the event was not being broadcasted, and the former Speaker responded in kind. When specifically asked his opinions on Ted Cruz, Boehner made a face, drawing laughter from the crowd.
Lucifer in the flesh, the former speaker said. I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.
Boehner described other Republican candidates as friends. In particular, the former speaker said he has played golf with Donald Trump for years and that they were texting buddies.

Election results aside, check back here to see if folks no longer have to twist their formerly conservative selves into pretzels to agree with folks that used to be despised around here.
John Boehner, I despise you.
That said, you are right. I see that now. Cruz is a snake who will say or do anything to get elected. He has NO principles.
In the fight between Trump and Cruz, I am for Trump.
In the fight between Cruz and Boehner, they are tied.
They are equally lacking in principles.
Nah JW,
This election is so not about conservatism but conserving.
Once you understand that my brother you will see why us conservatives who do want Trump are far from twisted.
All we need for proof is to see what Cruz has become to realize we made the right choice.
BTTT! You said it better than I could have.
I am not the one trying to convince people that a career government employee is something he is not
“...is a snake who will say or do anything to get elected. He has NO principles.”
Just be sure Mr. T isn’t doing the same thing...
Try substituting the words “conduct business” for “get elected” and see how it fits.
He was right - people hated Harry.
Apparently neither of these is true. Truman never said the famous saying about a friend in Washington: link. And while some people may have hated him, he did have a lot of friends: link, link
Er... no... but you’re the one who stood up on his soap-box to get me (allegedly) off of mine. Irony. It’s not just a breakfast supplement, anymore.
By the way: when pointing out blatantly non-Christian and non-conservative traits and quotes from a candidate gets labeled “being on a soap-box”, then I do wonder what you WOULDN’T consider a “soap-box”, aside from pure cheering for your favored candidate... or pictures of kitties, etc.
Now, all of the sudden, some Freepers think Boehner is a conservative her. Like Christie and Giuliani.
That is the power of media. You mighy want to free it someday.
In January Graham said Trump was better than Cruz. Graham also said he wanted to shoot Cruz. I am pretty sure that that means Graham doesn’t like him.
eh it’s called observation without prejudice.
Try it.
Seems like some one has essay too much time on their hands
Just breathe. It will be okay
(*eyeroll*) Good ad hominem dismissal, pal. You commented on my statement first, remember? If you’re so scornful of responses and discussion, maybe you could’ve just passed this one by...
That, or you could get used to the idea that discussion forums involve... well... discussion, eh?
Otherwise, you’ll leave the reader with the impression that you have no substantial rejoinder. Just saying.
If I give another one line response will you knock out a couple of more paragraphs?
Not when you’ve proven yourself to be a garden-variety troll, no; I don’t feed them. Get well soon.
And yet you keep responding
