He is forced to support his lazy son only because it was part of his divorce agreement.

‘Children’ in America can already stay on their parents employer sponsored health insurance until 28. A full decade after becoming old enough to marry, join the military and vote!

I think the age is 26——but still not acceptable.

It’s 28 in Ohio. I know that. It used to be 26 until they changed it. The insurance laws allow for two years more than the Federal Mandate.
Regardless, by 28 I had been on my own for a decade. I left for college at 18 and never went back. Now I want my parents to pay me back pay.

No kidding think about it! 28 is closer to 35 than 18. My God children are coddled these days. Western society is dying.

What a sad story. Once upon a time, a guy like that would have been shamed into supporting himself, however meagerly. If only to develop some small sense of pride and self-respect !

Imagine your 25 year old being on your health insurance and paying for a childbirth as a grandparent, legally required.
One could imagine the grandchild now being required to be on your insurance until it's 26.
Greased slopes.

It’s no wonder they need their safe spaces in college.
I was in college at 17 and graduated at 20 with a full time job. I’d be so embarrassed to ask my parents for a dime.

That's how I read it, too - otherwise, this would be slavery, pure and simple.
But divorce agreement or not, I have no idea how a 28 year old man could be comfortable taking money from his father.

28!!! That’s crazy.
Truthfully, I left home at 16. I started taking care of my Mom when I was 31.
The world has turned upside down.

My Socialist sister’s son, age 26, lives in the family home. He graduated college in December with a double major. He hasn’t been interviewing for jobs as he doesn’t want to do so. His father gives him pocket money. My sister was very upset when he received his letter telling him was no longer covered by his parent’s health insurance. He doesn’t care about health insurance. As long as he isn’t working, he won’t be penalized for not having the insurance. At least he isn’t collecting welfare or unemployment (you have to have had a job to get unemployment, if you aren’t now working). She hasn’t yet asked me where she went wrong......

Obamacare mandated it to 26.. before that many policies did offer this provided the child was a student or something like that, but it wasn’t legally required.
