What a sad story. Once upon a time, a guy like that would have been shamed into supporting himself, however meagerly. If only to develop some small sense of pride and self-respect !

My Socialist sister’s son, age 26, lives in the family home. He graduated college in December with a double major. He hasn’t been interviewing for jobs as he doesn’t want to do so. His father gives him pocket money. My sister was very upset when he received his letter telling him was no longer covered by his parent’s health insurance. He doesn’t care about health insurance. As long as he isn’t working, he won’t be penalized for not having the insurance. At least he isn’t collecting welfare or unemployment (you have to have had a job to get unemployment, if you aren’t now working). She hasn’t yet asked me where she went wrong......
