Kaisch is a da**ed fool to trust Cruz. Now, that they have colluded, it’s safe to say that Cruz is now in the back pocket of George Soros, who funds Kasich. I noticed he has stopped talking about his Christianity too - how can he? He has sold his soul to the devil.

This reveals what the Campaign is all about in 2016:

STOP Trump at any cost.

The Republican party is committing Hiri-Kiri.

Cruz and Kasich stand for nothing as they only attack Trump.

That is their Raison d’etre: Trash Trump.

What about clear cut policies?

Makes me support Trump even more...

Corrupt to the core. This is all about the party insiders. Nothing else.

Look how the cowardly Cruz supporters (I’m pretty sure it’s 2ndDivisionVet, as he is a lowly and vile Romneybot who has implied in the past it was him) put all sorts of lies in the keywords to attack Sundance, but won’t say them publicly in the thread, because then they’d have to defend it and be held accountable.

It is not surprising. Collusion like this has been going on in Presidential Campaigns since they were invented, I think. I remember McCain, WV or VA operatives colluding with other campaigns and state party officials to take out Romney or somebody there. But this was all denied and done under the table. No admissions IIRC.

What is surprising is that there’s open admission here. Heck not even an admission. It’s a deliberate propaganda statement of intent! Likely done not only for the campaigns, but to give open direction via media to their respective PACs to act accordingly, probably even likely they think this will give their respective voters ‘direction’ (which would be a real threat - IF they had any voters).

I predict campaign defections from Cruz’s staff. Maybe Kasich, but does kasich even have a staff?

I'm in PA District 18 and yesterday I played golf with three new members {all demonRATs and all voting for Trump in the general election}. I had never met these guys before but I was wearing my "Make America Great Again" cap, and that started the political dialog.

They said if it's anyone but Trump they will vote for hildabutchbitch, which none could explain but I didn't press it too hard.

I do know that where I live, there are a ton of demonRATs waiting to vote for Trump, no demonRATs I've talked to would even consider Cruz.

Cruzers will claim that it proves that Cruz is more conservative that Trump, and while I agree, it also proves that Trump is the only one that can beat kankles, PIAPS, butchbitch, the MURDERER OF STEVENS. It's going to be Trump in a landslide in PA tomorrow.

I know that coordination between PACs and candidate are illegal; but collusion between candidates. How is that not illegal?

How any Cruz supporter possibly justify this is beyond me. This is politics at its worst. The people who say this is smart politics miss the point. WE DON’T WANT POLITICIANS WHO ONLY CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES.

Lying Ted Cruz has just demonstrated he is unfit to be a candidate for Presudent. He is allying himself with an establishment tool and a fool who welcomes illegal aliens, supports Common Core and follows the establishment agenda, in an attempt to circumvent the will of the majority of Republican voters.

There is no way I will ever vote for lying Ted Cruz.

Everybody take a couple of steps back for a moment. For future reference, let's consider three ways of choosing a candidate.

Method one would be to award all delegates proportionately, based on the results in primaries. Had this been the consistent rule this year, Trump would lose a significant fraction of his current delegates, as his totals are inflated by his big haul in several winner-take-all states. This, of course, is what leaves him vulnerable if the convention goes to a second ballot. Trump's delegate lead overstates his actual support in the party. Method one would make everything proportional and eliminate this problem. But it would maximize the chance of long, bitter primaries and contested conventions.

Method two would be a universal winner take all system. Winner take all produces a quick winner. But this would maximize the chance of victory for a factional candidate in a divided field, which is of course Trump's formula this year. The downside is that a determined and united faction could nominate a candidate objectionable to the majority, if the majority doesn't coalesce in time.

Method three would be to move to a runoff system in which, if no one gets a majority, the top two go head to head. There are other variations that could be used if one were prepared to have more than one runoff round (e.g. drop the low man, or everyone below a threshold) if we were prepared for multi-round voting, which is practical in a convention or caucus but not a primary. In a runoff system, conventional wisdom is probably correct that Trump would have been trounced head to head by several (and perhaps most) of the other candidates in the field. Trump has a determined faction that has confounded early expectations by staying united in the face of innumerable statements and actions that should have been disqualifying. But he has not had majorities in most states, and he is not most people's second choice.

What we have now is a messy mixture of methods one and two. Four years from now, Trump will probably be gone, one way or the other. Based on this year's ugly process, I'd be interested in knowing what process people would favor.

I actually used to like Cruz. No more. Partnering with Kasich (who must actually be a Democrat) is a red-line for me.
