Gov. Deval Patrick is reportedly on the short list of potential running mates for Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton and Bay State political analysts say he could be the perfect pick because he could help win over the partys progressive wing and shine in head-to-head debates.
I think hed be a terrific choice, said Philip Johnston, former chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party. He is viewed as a strong progressive, and I think he has great credibility with both Clinton and (Bernie) Sanders supporters.
The New York Times reported yesterday that Clintons advisers are compiling a list of 15 to 25 potential candidates for vice president that includes Patrick.
(snip) African-Americans overwhelmingly support the Democratic Party, Whalen said. Clinton has to weigh the pros and cons.

Trump going to rout her
Wouldn’t that be something: the most corrupt candidate in years gets elected with a knee-jerk, Leftist Marxachusetts Fool as her VP.
This just gets better and better.
>>short list
A recent pic of him?
How close is he to Obama? Maybe Obama forces his selection on Hillary in exchange for making sure there is no indictment.
That’s why she carries hot sauce, water melon, fried chicken, ribs, and dice in her purse. But, she’s definitely not pandering.
Its about winning over the hardcore Left.
If Deval Patrick is her pick, it ought to make the Sanders folks very happy.
There’s no reason why she needs to pivot to the center.
Obama’s South Chicago mini-me.
How bad is Gov. Deval Patrick? So bad that Massachusetts, yes Massachusetts, actually voted in a Republican governor (squishy, but we’re talking Massachusetts here) after Patrick stepped down.
I can’t imagine Obama having anything but contempt for Deval.
In MA they usually vote for RINOs.
Mittens was so bad that they picked a Democrat.
Let’s not discount the negro vote dynamic that gave us eight years of a Marxist presidency.
If I were Trump I’d grab Colonel West or some some equally qualified Black for veep.
Here, uber-liberal Deval (then-Mass Gov) sap-happily applauds his new police chief---wearing her spiffy Commandant Herman Gohering uniform (not photoshopped).
Anybody know how to say versimilitude in German?
After the Boston bombing, then- Gov Deval ordered all state agencies NOT to release info on the welfare gravy train collected by the bombers and their entire family....said to amount to some $100,000.00
REFERENCE Federal outreach to Muslim American communities is a pillar of Obama counter-terrorism strategy
Washington post | 5/25/2013 | ap / FR Posted by tobyhill
Within hours of the Boston Marathon blasts, government officials and Muslims in Boston called each other to offer assistance. These calls were the fruits of years of cultivating such relationships in an effort to ultimately prevent the very type of attack Boston experienced April 15....
Representatives from the US Departments of Justice and Homeland Security called to offer support to Muslim communities......just in case THEY suffered backlash or threats. (more on FR).
The Massachusetts Republican Party died last Tuesday.
The cause of death: failed leadership.
The party is survived by a few leftover legislators
and a handful of county officials and grassroots activists
who have been ignored for years.
Services will be public and a mass exodus of taxpayers will follow.
In lieu of flowers, send messages to Republican voters
warning them about a certain presidential candidate named Romney.
- Boston Herald, 11/12/2006
"In 2006, while Romney was chairman of the National Republican
Governors Association - a group dedicated to electing more
Republican governors - his own hand-picked Republican successor
as governor lost badly to the Democrat, despite the fact that Republicans
have held the governorship in Massachusetts since 1990. Romney largely
ignored the Massachusetts elections and spent most of the time
during the campaign out of state building his presidential campaign.
He came back and publicly campaigned for the Republican candidate
the day before the general election!
Locally, this is a rebuke to Mitt Romney and checking out within six months
after being elected and having accomplished almost nothing,
[Jim] Rappaport [former chairman of the state Republican Party]."
- Boston Globe, 11/8/2006
He is Obama-lite.
The only positive thing I can say is: He is less tedious to listen to than Liz Warren.
Yes, Patrick sucked.
But we rotate between communists like Patrick and liberal republicans all of the time.
Is he competent?
I thought she wanted a vp named “ Castro”
Coupe DeVal? Yo, who does she think she is, making that brother ride in the back of the bus?
Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen it!
