He needed to apologize for NY Values and travel around acting like an actual person - eating pizza, dirty water hotdogs, beef on a wick, salted pretzels, pastrami and egg creams and knocking off the phony cadences, dramatic pauses and deep-throated explosions on certain words (”EXACTLY!”) and connecting in a real way like Trump does. Trump may be a billionaire but he comes across as a guy from Queens.

For years now Ford has been reporting billions in PROFIT quarterly...Apparently that wasn't enough...

International corporations need to be treated like spoiled children. I look at tariffs as guardrails and tells those Cheap Labor Whores that there are limits. You can do whatever you want inside the guardrails but outside the guardrails is subject to intense scrutiny and limitations.

The way we fix the wage problem in the United States, and get more factories to come back to the US, is to lower the wages of American workers. The best way to do that is to flood America with illegal immigrants that will work for half of what Americans will. It’s working great so far. We just have a long way to go, that’s all. Soon enough, the maximum pay will be $15/hour and the minimum wage will be $15/hour. Then it will be FAIR for everyone and manufacturing will coming storming back to America.

(Sarcasm)

And I’m still voting for Cruz in Indiana.

Gee Max when did you become the Free Republic censor? I suggest you reread the post. There are reasons the good paying jobs of the sixties and seventies are not likely to manifest themselves again. As to America being great again, I suggest America has always been great because America is based upon eternal truths. If you are referring to the restoration of physical and economic power, then the urban areas need to be fixed. The urban areas are the center of the activities that are destroying the nation. The communists are deeply entrenched there.

I voted for an supported Ted in Az. Wish it had turned out better. Going forward we may be able to restore our industrial base over time. Wages like we used to get are not likely to come back. An industrial economy requires an educated and reliable (not quite the word) citizenry. Don’t see that happening anytime soon.

Could it be you are making money off cheap labor, or that cheap junk that comes from China???

If that's the case why should a blue collar worker vote GOP?

Wouldn't they be materially better off voting for progressive taxation and more handouts? After all, you offer them nothing but poverty and decline as globalism destroys their incomes. Gee, I wonder why the Republican electoral map keeps getting worse? It's an enigma.

I expect you will deny my premise. But it's fundamental economics. Globalism means downward pressure on wages. The final outcome of putting Americans in direct competition with slaves who work for a dollar a day will be the reduction of US wages to the global average.

And you will have enabled this with your globalist ideology. Then you expect to get the votes of those same workers whose lives you utterly ruined. Good luck with that.

In case you haven't noticed we can't win with evangelicals and Tea Party votes alone. Trump's patriotic economic policies will bring back the blue collar voters Bush globalism lost. It's the only way forward.

lol. Neophyte. My company is making money off the cheap labor in the auto industry in North America. But that doesn't have anything to do with my opinion of Ted Cruz.

Max you seem to think I support globalism. I don't. I did in the eighties but long long ago I figured out what the elites were up too. Your second paragraph is absolutely correct and is exactly the warning I have been giving people for thirty or so years. They think I wear a tin foil hat. Too bad I have been correct.

My point is, simplistic attempts to solve the problems will not be successful. Restoring our manufacturing base will be a difficult, long term effort. It will involve massive changes to the tax code. Massive changes to education. Massive changes to the media. And massive changes to popular culture. And restoration of responsible government. With due respect I don't see the will needed to make this happen. Further, the Marxists will never allow their century long effort to destroy America to be corrected without a fight. Political and physical. And we won't be able to correct this without getting rid of Marxism. I would like to address another thing, I don't offer anything. I am pointing out some of the issues we must overcome to restore America. And don't forget the American people put the marxists (democrats) in office that have destroyed much of America's industrial base and if polls are to be believed the American public is ready to put the people who are hell bent on destroying us, back into office. That would include most of the blue collar folks voting democrat. And we haven't even mentioned academia. Is there hope? Yes but it is a long shot. Will I quit fighting to save the country? Nope. But I won't delude myself about how far we have to go and what political will exists to correct the situation either.
