Do you want to know what Donald Trump is really like?
Back in Febuary of 2016 there was a Repuplican debate. The moderator was calling out the candidates' names at the start of the debate. When Ben Carson's name was called, he didn't hear it. So he just stood there in the wings. Cruz, Christie, and Bush, they all just walked passed Carson. But Trump understood what had happened, and he stood there right by Carson. That is the mark of a man!
It might not be a specific comment on this thread, but I have noticed it and commented on it also. There is a scary savior-like worship of Trump from those supposedly on the right that was similar to the savior-like worship of The Won from the left. And then EveningStar confirmed with this list he put together of everything he had seen and noted. It is quite disturbing.

“These are certainly odd times. I’m very pro-Trump, but I still think there’s a 20% chance that Trump is some sort of fraud.”
Possible but I don’t think so. I will take that chance compared to what else is out there.
This was a totally unscripted moment. And Trump passed the test. Everyone else failed.
A video of that is here:
I needed to know that he could listen to other people, that he could change his opinions, and that some of the more outlandish things that hes said, that he didnt really believe those things. Ben Carsen, after meeting with Trump when suspending his campaign.
Yep.
It’s a religious cult. Just wait till he passes out the cyanide Kool Aid. They’ll all drink it up.
King Trumpy said
I am weary of the infantile Tedaban. He lost. Stop trying to elect Hillary. Get with the project.
“...raising taxes...”
Are you referring to the “carried interest” tax loop hole where hedge fund managers pay half the tax you would pay?
That is the only increase Trump has proposed. You can drop it from your talking points.
Whereas Cruzs socialistic VAT tax will hit the lower and middle class the hardest.
..............................................................
God forbid we ever see a VAT tax in America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a fair question. Please see my post #58.
Cruz sure does live by a double standard. I bet he is writing his potty policy paper right now.
..............................................................
AND will deliver it in a 99 minute speech to the people of Indiana. and that’s not counting the lengthy pregnant pauses.......
Why does a godless, lawless, immoral, perverted, murderous society that is afraid of chalk need a leader ?
You said it better than me. That's exactly what I was trying to point out here.
Sometimes life gives you a pop quiz. How will you respond?
He could have done better, but the problem I have is with the mischacterisation by the Cruzers of his central points.
They claim he’s transgender supporting, or a dozen other ugly things they claim about this nothing burger. Which, by the way ARE lies.
I agree about the infighting, I also agree with Jim Robinson when he says that Cruz staying in only thrills the totalitarian left.
He can’t win, but he can continue to do the bidding of the bush/romney/gope and be the turd in the punch bowl.
In doing that, he and his supporters have lost their collective minds and are cooperating with the very forces they claim to be against.
Well, if anyone has said that Trump has “supported” the ridiculous “transgenders” (I hate that word) I agree, that would be a lie. Just haven’t seen it.
And I do think that Trump will be the nominee, but I still plan on voting for Cruz in the California primary, mainly in hopes that the conservative movement will have some leverage at the convention. I don’t think that Ted or anyone else really thinks that he’ll wind up as the nominee at this point.
And then we need to do what we can to beat Hillary. If Trump’s the standard bearer, so be it. But we need to keep up the pressure on him from the right at the same time.
At least it won’t be boring!
My point was there was nothing that Trump can do to make a positive impression on him.
However, since you raised the points, I will address them:
Raising taxes: He did mention something about raising taxes on "the rich". The article that I read is that they pay a significantly lower rate (hedge funds) than I do as a middle class American. I abhor taxes, but feel that everyone should pay the same rate.
Abortion: I personally despise abortion. However, any candidate that says he wants to outlaw all abortions will NEVER make it to the White House. Unfortunately, at this time, abortion is settled law and until we get a better looking Supreme Court, very little will change. If he had mentioned being okay with late-term or partial birth, I would feel differently.
Transgenders: I have never seen a transgender aside from the movies or TV. How may have you come across in your daily routine? I heard that they constitute 0.03% of the population. Personally, I think that people should use their birth certificate gender when choosing a bathroom and something is not right with these people. What scare me way more than transgenders is same-sex pedophiles. But, is this a "media created" battle we wish to fight (remember Romney and birth control)?
With our porous borders and uncontrolled spending, we need to have the right priorities.
Well good luck with that.
I don’t understand how anyone thinks Cruz is a principled conservative after the last two months.
I think he’s doing nothing but helping the totalitarian left take down Trump at this point. They love every minute this continues, and every #nevertrump ad that plants doubt in every state he runs in.
I am sure Barron is very proud of his father and is seeing everything Trump does as a cue to what his father expects of him when he grows into adulthood.
Plenty of faux Christians on FR. They post their rhetoric and betray their prejudices, while being blind to the signals they broadcast.
I have learned to expect it. It is not cynical to recognize that very many people must put up a false front to further their own agendas.
