Donald J. Trump said Thursday that transgender people should be allowed to use whatever bathroom they feel most comfortable with — including at Trump Tower in New York.
Dipping into a contentious issue by taking a stand many Republicans oppose, Mr. Trump told a town-hall-style event, hosted by NBC’s “Today” show at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, that when people go to the restroom, they should “use the bathroom they feel is appropriate.”
Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, was responding to a question about a bill that North Carolina’s governor signed into law last month that bars individuals in the state from using public bathrooms that don’t correspond to their biological sex — the one listed on their birth certificate. Since then, there has been a backlash from businesses and celebrities opposed to the state’s action. And transgender issues have pitted social conservatives against business interests that traditionally have been part of the Republican coalition in the South and elsewhere.
“North Carolina did something — it was very strong — and they’re paying a big price,” Mr. Trump said. “And there’s a lot of problems. And I heard — one of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday saying, leave it the way it is, right now.”
He added that before the law passed, there had been “very few problems” but now North Carolina is experiencing an exodus of businesses and “strife” from people on both sides of the issue.
“You leave it the way it is,” he said. “There have been very few complaints the way it is.”
North Carolina’s law, which also removed anti-discrimination protections for L.G.B.T. people, and the backlash to it, is now at the heart of the state’s hotly contested governor’s race.

My feeling exactly. I despise Kasich, have lost faith in Cruz, and never had much in Trump to start with, and this is the straw which breaks what faith I did have. All the people saying this is a “side issue” don’t understand that conservatism includes the social part, there isn’t conservatism without that part, and that this is much bigger than whether trannies can use a bathroom, although that matters too. For one thing, this enables perverts.

Anyway - to your point.. My little girl is really too old to go into the boys room with me and too young to be left alone.. I usually wait outside the door for her - guess I’m going in now.. lol, likely not.. but if I do see some creep walk in I’m going in..
And then there’s the difference between transvestites and transgenders. There was actually a homosexual pride parade last year where transgenders were mad at transvestites and wanted them banned - because the transvestites were either hetero or homosexual and openly such and stated they are just wearing the dress for kicks or shock value, while the transgenders are offended and want everyone to see them as REAL women while they wear the dresses.
In short, the transvestites were offensive because they didn’t join in the transgenders’ delusion, despite also wearing dresses.

I think this whole thing is being blown out of proportion on FR. If you look at the main news sites (incl Fox), it’s hardly being discussed. Let me be frank: I don’t agree with Trump on this, but it’s hardly the most important issue facing America. My guess is that this ‘controversy’ will blow over soon - if there is anything to blow over at all.

First of all, I am not aware of any law on the books that says Mexican trannies were already outlawed from using the women's restroom. In fact, I think they've been using the women's restroom for ages already. You just don't see them since they either paid lots of money for the operation or because their are only 750,000 trannies in the whole entire country. And as for beating him up, you could do that anyway since assault would be against the law in either case, which won't stop you. Also the odds of you actually seeing a bonafide Mexican tranny is about the same as Yellowstone erupting-- 1 in 75,000.
And you are delusional if you think an 11 year old, or a 13 year old is under a parents supervision at every moment.
But notice the only thing this law would accomplish would be-- well, nothing, since anyone willing to rape or expose themselves or take photos in the first place will probably break the law anyway. But, hypothetically, though not realistically, it would only be protecting little girls.
Your son would still be vulnerable to the tranny who must now go into the men's restroom, and bonafide trannies are probably going to prefer men to girls.
