Donald J. Trump said Thursday that transgender people should be allowed to use whatever bathroom they feel most comfortable with — including at Trump Tower in New York.
Dipping into a contentious issue by taking a stand many Republicans oppose, Mr. Trump told a town-hall-style event, hosted by NBC’s “Today” show at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, that when people go to the restroom, they should “use the bathroom they feel is appropriate.”
Mr. Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, was responding to a question about a bill that North Carolina’s governor signed into law last month that bars individuals in the state from using public bathrooms that don’t correspond to their biological sex — the one listed on their birth certificate. Since then, there has been a backlash from businesses and celebrities opposed to the state’s action. And transgender issues have pitted social conservatives against business interests that traditionally have been part of the Republican coalition in the South and elsewhere.
“North Carolina did something — it was very strong — and they’re paying a big price,” Mr. Trump said. “And there’s a lot of problems. And I heard — one of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday saying, leave it the way it is, right now.”
He added that before the law passed, there had been “very few problems” but now North Carolina is experiencing an exodus of businesses and “strife” from people on both sides of the issue.
“You leave it the way it is,” he said. “There have been very few complaints the way it is.”
North Carolina’s law, which also removed anti-discrimination protections for L.G.B.T. people, and the backlash to it, is now at the heart of the state’s hotly contested governor’s race.

I was all in for Cruz at first. Then after he unmasked, I liked Trump. I am beginning to think I have no business voting. I need some sort of literacy test, or poll tax, or something.

That already happens with homosexuals all the time. I had that happen at a place I worked at. A homo was taking pictures of men sitting on toilets from beneath the other stall. If you're concerned about some guy not bothering to disguise himself to walk into the women's bathroom, keep in mind they could just put on a wig, and no one in their right mind is going to start patting down people to check their sex.

LOL, Nothing will save Cruz, hes not getting nominated. As far as this NON-Issue, what Trump said was common sense. Its not going to be fixed by the executive and nothing his says on it will be OK. So this way he took it off the table in the general, kept the liberal states in play and already told you the things he would do that would fix it it, Judges, Education Religious liberty.
This horse is out of the barn, the fix is cultural, The means is not going to happen over night.

Exactly. I am sick of this topic already. This is just another talking point for the Cruzers who like to twist words and use deceptive arguments. Trump will clarify his NC bathroom remarks and issue a formal statement.
It's already against the law to begin with, but they're doing it anyway; and it could be a bull dyke, a lesbian, or a well disguised man in a dress. It would make no difference.
Its different. Right now if I saw a Mexican tranny walk into the girls room behind an 11 year old daughter, I could beat the snot out of him. A cop could slam and cuff him.

Liberals want to enforce racial segregation for the comfort of non-whites, but want to destroy gender segregation intended for the safety of women for the comfort of the mentally ill.
And while they say abortion is protected as a privacy right, the Department of Justice says you don’t have the right to tell a boy with a penis to change in a different room - he gets to change right in front of all the girls who see it and he sees them, because his mental delusion trumps your desire for physical privacy when undressed.
What you and the rest of the social conservatives forgave him on his abortion stance?
