Republican Donald Trump says he'd be fine with Caitlyn Jenner using the bathroom of her choice at Trump Tower. (AP File Photo)
(CNSNews.com) - Republican Donald Trump, appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, said transgenders should be allowed to "use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate."
"So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?" host Matt Lauer asked Trump.
"That is correct," Trump said.
Asked for his view on the North Carolina bathroom controversy, Trump said the state has "paid a big price" for requiring transgenders to use the restroom that corresponds with their biological sex.
"Leave it the way it is," he said.
"One of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday, saying 'Leave it the way it is right now.' There have been very few problems. Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going through with all of the business that's leaving and all of the strife, and that's on both sides -- you leave it the way it is.
"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife, and the -- the economic punishment that they're taking."
AD FEEDBACK
Trump said he doesn't know if he has any transgender people working for him. "I probably do, I really don't know."
Trump noted that there's a "big move to create new bathrooms" for transgenders.
"First of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country. Leave it the way it is."
Anyway, I don't want Caitlyn in the men's room. Let her poop like a bear in the ladies salon.
Well, it’s garbage out of his own mouth today.
I’ll have to see the response first. I prefer it begin with, “I was wrong....”
Quite simply Trump the businessman was commenting on the loss of jobs and the financial toll that North Carolina is suffering when they should have just let things go on as they were already. Which wasn’t causing much problems before.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jiq4PJmC24E Listen to what he actually said (which were just observations on the impact of their actions) and how things were before.
He said “leave North Carolina as it is” meaning it’s a states rights issue.
What this is known as an incendiary issue planted as a landmine for Trump to step on. He knew what it was and played along with it to once again dominate the news cycle as he always does. But he slipped in the bit to leave NC alone after he set off his own bomb back at Matt Lauer.
That’s how Trump operates. He likes to keep them guessing. The news media is comprised of some of the worst lying scumbags on Earth and they deserve to have the hand grenade thrown back at them.
Now the a-holes in the media will be shrieking about Trump said this and that for the next 72 hours trying to explain what Trump means when he says Jenner can use the women’s restroom in Trump Towers but hands off on North Carolina’s bathroom law. He dominates the newsrooms on an issue that pales in significance to 20 trillion is debt, ISIS, lax immigration, etc.
Trump knows how to handle the media. The lemmings that march off the cliff with Cruz were never going to vote for him anyways. Trump supporters are not going to be swayed by bathrooms, they are going to fight that issue bathroom by bathroom until the Cultural Marxists who are the ones that are really behind this garbage give up. Once Trump is in the Oval Office, the Cultural Marxists will be annihilated by the supporters of President Trump and he’s not going to lift a finger to stop the annihilation.
Bathroom politics are going to be ongoing at the state level and in courts. It is not a federal issue and Trump knows that. But federal courts will try and dictate it’s a civil rights issue. Good, that will bring on a reform of the bastards in the federal court system. That’s where the real fight is.
I disagree.
What he said was let known men use female restrooms.
1. He knows Jenner, knows he is male, but he can use the restroom of his choice. That is not “the way it is”. The real way it is does not allow men in women’s facilities. He has a double meaning for “the way it is”.
2. North Carolina had Charlotte change “the way it is.” North Carolina responded and restored the real “way it is “. Trump says they’re getting economic push back over restoring the “way it is “. Which “way it is” is he saying for them to keep, the one without economic turmoil or the original “way it is” with the turmoil?
3. New bathroom structures would not be “unbelievably” expensive. The areas, plumbing, and fixtures already are present.
2.
I don’t go along with it.
“Which way it is is he saying for them to keep, the one without economic turmoil or the original way it is with the turmoil?”
Is this the part you are waiting for clarification on? Because that’s where his answer gets all muddied up, at least in my opinion. I know I took it the bad way, I guess.
Does the part about Jenner need to be completely repudiated for you, or does him actually owning the building make any difference to you?
Freegards
Because perverts will go in women’s restrooms and locker rooms to look at the women naked and little girls naked. And #s say there are more men perverts wanting to see women & girls naked vice men wanting to see men/boys naked.
He fairly obviously meant leave it as it was before the state legislature acted to shut down a city pro-transgender ordinance.
I know. It wasn’t aimed at you, and I’m sorry if it came across like it was.
That is not a blame FOR the attack and you know it. And, kindly do not tell me whom not to post to. This is a public forum. You may welcome to not participate.
Of course any bathroom remodel is expensive and many small businesses don’t have the real estate to add another one anyways. It would be a very expensive proposition for small business owners. Not too many woman would complain having Jenner in a women’s restroom. Be more awkward in a men’s room... lol.
Charlotte was changing “the way it is” agreed. But, Trump did NOT say that they are getting push back over restoring “the way it is”. Clearly he was referring to the existing laws were sufficient before this whole issue came up and not worth the economic strife that came because of it.
The tower depends on whether he presents areas of it as public access. If he does he should abide by the real “way it is”.
No, he didn’t mean that. If you saw the show you would have seen that he meant ‘leave it as it is now’, not as before.
Because you are trying to twist his words into your Trump-hating view, I am going to stop this exchange and tell you not to post to me again.
Excuse me, but it was mere HOURS after the attack when Cruz was asked about the attack and he said it was STRIKING that a day after Trump said words about NATO that the terrorists attacked Brussels which is the site of the HQ of NATO.
Cruz did not miss a chance to tie Trump to the Brussels terror attack via NATO when it had nothing to do with NATO or with Trump.
Cruz did the same when the hard-core left attacked his rally in Chicago by blaming Trump for inciting the riot.
Cruz has a screw loose. He has an unhealthy fixation on Trump, everything bad that happens is in his view the fault of Donald Trump. Cruz is a nutcase.
Now get lost.
You know, after seeing the video a time or two, I’m finding more and more that there’s not a lot to complain about, or at least not nearly as bad as is claimed. It’s nowhere close to ideal, but it’s not slobbering all over the tranny crap either.
Having said that, when men go into women’s restrooms to get their rocks off and use the ‘I identify as female’ BS as an excuse, they should get the old mob treatment of castration and being made to eat the removed bits while on fire.
