Senator Cruz,
April 20, 2016
I wanted to write this letter to you in the hopes that you will get it and be able to read it.
I have been, and am, a supporter and admirer of yours.
You have been a staunch supporter of the constitution, conservative values, and stood (many times alone) against a GOP Establishment that has not kept faith with the conservative base of the party who electe them.
I have supported you from afar as you won offices in TExas, including your stinning victory for the US SEnate. I have supported you through these Presidential primaries and worked in my own area to help yo win Idaho. I have sent money into your campaign.
Now we have reached a stage where things are coming into focus.
I know, as an individual with the will and the stamina and dedication to run for President that you are absolutely convinced of your need to win this race.
However, reality is now showing that mathematically that victory is out of reach through the primaries.
I know you can, and that you seem willing to try and do all in your power to take the fight to the convention and somehow stop Donald Trump from getting the delegates he needs so you can fight him on the convention floor and win the nomination.
As a devout Christian, as an American who loves this nation and the Constitution, I urge you not to do so.
I believe the single worst thing that we could do, that would almost assuredly lead to a Hillary Clinton victory, is to have an ugly convention fight that ends up taking the nomination away from a man who will have earned the lfar largest share of the vote, and who will have also probably come within a hair's breatdth of winning the necessary delegates. Quite frankly, after his New York victory and depending on what happens on April 26th, I believe it very possible, perhaps even likely, that he will get to the delegates necessary before the convention in any case.
I know the GOPe and many who have had the most vile things to say about you are now hoping to use you to stop Donald Trump. Their support fo you is feigned and they will throw you to the curb the instant they can in order to retain their own power...and, in my pwn estimation, they do not care if it means Hillary Clinton being elected to do so.
I have studied your positions and your speeches and I agree with them and support them whole heartidly. But I have also studied the positions that Trump has now put out and the detail. They are very similar to your own senator. I guess the big question is whetrher we believe Donald Trump will actually follow through and implement them.
If he has the right people around him, helping him, showing him how...I believe he will.
Senator Cruz, a raucus, ugly fight at the convention will almost ensure that one or the other large segmnent of the people who voted in the GOP primaries will be very angry and we will lose many of thiir votes in the general, or worse, they will try a 3rd party run.
Either of those scenarios hands the election to Hillary Clinton or the DNC.
As a nation we absolutely CANNOT afford a 3rd Obama term or worse. The impact to the Supreme Court, to foreigh policy, to our financnes, to a continued erosion of moral values, and almost every other ccritical national interest would all be catastophic.
I plead with you sentor, be the voice of reason. Be the uniter.
You are in a unique position (and God has placed you there) to be able to do this at this time. I know it is not the way you or I envisioned you being able to do it. But it is the truth nonetheless.
Should Trump do well on April 26th and then in Indiana, I urge you to meet with Mr. Trump and be willing to set aside pride, war hatchets, and whatever is necessary to come to an accomodation between the two of you that unites the party behind what will be his candidancy.
I know this is a hard thing to consider...but in the interest of this nation I ask that you prayerfully consider this and stnad up and unite the party so we can win in November.
And then work with Mr. Trump to implement all of those good things that both of your candidacies represent, and then trust in God to turn the tide. I know He will...I know that if the policies set forth are impleneted, he will help us turn this nation around, and there is the very strong possibility that we will have 16 years of strong American leadership to do so.
Sincerely, and as a fellow American and brother in Christ,
Jeff Head

I am tired of this. You win. I am deranged for supporting Trump. I will support Trump anyway just because I am tired of Cruzoid jerks calling me names.
I did not call you any names....nor did I tell you were deranged for supporting Trump. I’ve simply given my opinion and we know those are a dime a dozen.
Fully agree he should withdraw if he’s mathematically eliminated. After all, both Kasich and Cruz have said that’s the right thing (heck, in Cruz’s case, that’s the moral thing) to do.
The fact they don’t practice what they preach is incredibly telling. They are both hoping to be anointed by the GOPe rather than being the choice of the people.
Cruz knows he has no chance of being anointed by the GOPe, which is why he is fighting them tooth and nail at these state Conventions. Cruz understands that if he doesn't fight for the seating of his delegates, the GOPe will put their own delegates in those spots.
Trump on the other hand is convinced that he will win on the first ballot, so he has done nothing to protect his interests on any subsequent ballot. Should no one get the magic 1273, then you are going to see Trump's delegates abandon him for Kasich - not Cruz's delegates.
Oh, the irony.
So your contention is that Cruz, who opposes and is opposed by the GOPe, is fighting a battle that he mathematically cannot win (he’s been eliminated).
And in doing so, he will potentially be a roadblock to ANOTHER candidate who the GOPe opposes virulently.
So, because he can’t win on the first vote, he’s going to try to prevent another person doing so as well - even though both are hated by the GOPe.
If that is what passes for the Cruz style of logic, then heaven help us!
... if you saw something like that somewhere in the thread please provide a link.

I was at Jarbidge during the Shovel Brigade.
There were plenty of folks there packing heat.
The most visible were the gov't forces.
Ruby Ridge was NOT a distant memory, but merely 8 years earlier.
Then came WACO.
The gummint seems to have taken a harder stance since then; just ask the Bundy's and them other folks in Oregon; especially Robert LaVoy Finicum.
So many of us can only rail against the TV or print media in relative silence.
FINALLY a man with GONADS has stood up and SHOUTED what we've been feeling, thinking and trying to say for YEARS!
Go Trump!!
Populist?
There are a lot of folks out there, who cannot adequately defend their chosen viewpoint. Thus the descent into namecalling, hoping to muddy the water enough that the paucity of their abilities will be ignored.
Perhaps a Trigger Word was unknowingly used.
Thus the problem.
The old adage; kill two birds with one stone; comes to mind.
The stone thrower has just one stone and the birds are not aligned.
What to do?
Just whack the little bird enough to get it to attack the Big one!
While they are fighting, you can rush in and grab the prize!
Cruz is not a natural born citizen today, and won’t be next time. And....He has hidden every document that would prove he was ever registered as a U.S. citizen.
That’s hard to support.
The real deal? He isn’t a natural born citizen.
No, Cruz has not been "eliminated" from any subsequent ballot.
So, because he cant win on the first vote, hes going to try to prevent another person doing so as well - even though both are hated by the GOPe.
Just because both are opposed by the GOPe does not mean the two are interchangeable. Cruz is playing the game as though it will go to a second ballot. Trump is not. So regardless of what Cruz does, Trump will be screwed if it goes to a second ballot. And that will be 100% Trump's fault.
If Trump can't win unless Cruz withdraws, then Trump hasn't won. Meanwhile, the GOPe has cycled between three different candidates hoping to win a second, third, or fourth ballot. And they know they will have Trump delegates to help them out because Trump did nothing to stop them. Nothing. And whose fault is that? It certainly isn't Ted Cruz's fault.
Everything has been crystal clear all along.

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I appreciate your assistance, and it is interesting to go through Mr. Robinsons posts. I still did not find anything similar to what but Responsibility2nd claims Mr. Robinson said.
caww asked Responsibility2nd, “Did Jim really say people who support Cruz will be zotted????” I asked Responsibility2nd to provide a link to the post he was referring to. He of course provided no such link. I have asked him/her to provide other links backing up other related incendiary claims and he/she has never done so, at least not for me. I had been on the thread referred to earlier and saw no such statement.
I personally prefer not to bug Mr. Robinson over trivial matters because he no doubt already has his hands full, but I am including him in this one since his purported statement is the subject, which makes it good etiquette.
Amen.
The real answer to our dilemma in this nation is outlined in II Chron 7:14
In my reading of the scriptures and study of history, the type of repentance and turning to God that we need to do usually occurs as a result of one of two things:
1) A spirit of revival takes hold and the people turn to God willingly. This is always the best.
2) God ultimately weighs in on the wickedness and chastises entire peoples and nations and the people then sometimes repent because they fear God’s judgments.
Of the two, throughout history, the 2nd is what happens most often because of pride and people enjoying the wickedness they have turned to.
Thus Thomas Jefferson’s statement,
“I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever.”
I believe Cruz can win the nomination on the floor of the convention. But I believe that such a victory ...if it occurred this cycle...would be pyrrhic.
Likewise, I believe Trump may win the nomination outright, or may also win on the convention floor. Again, IMHO, such a victory without the party unifying (and that would mean in that case Cruz finding the way to make an accommodation with Trump and unite the two largest factions by far of the GOP voters) would also be pyrrhic.
My letter is urging Cruz to unite the party. IMHO< he is uniquely qualified to do so and avoid a huge rift if either side forces the issue without working very hard to unite these two groups.
That’s the real heart of the issue.
I have been and remain a Cruz supporter. But the reality on the ground, and for the ultimate good of the nation in avoiding a DNC victory in November, calls for such consideration.
The REAL fight here is for the nation and for avoiding the devastation a continuation of Obama policies will bring.
Nicely done
