A woman owner of a French bar beat a hapless armed robber round the head with his own bag and chased him out of the premises in dramatic scenes captured on CCTV.
In the video, which has become a hit on French social media, a masked man is seen entering the Bocage Normand bar, at Vire in the Normandy region of northern France, brandishing a handgun.
The reaction of the manageress Nathalie Leclerc-Pelan is a lesson in “sang froid”.
She calmly puts down the baby she is holding, and starts to berate the gun-wielding thief who proffers a bag and instructs her to fill it with cash.
Instead, Leclerc-Pelan takes the bag and uses it to beat him round the head, while pushing the gun – which was fully loaded – away from her and her customers.
The robber beat a retreat and one customer helps push him out with a bar stool. According to local media, two shots (one is clearly visible going off in the video) are fired during the foiled robbery.
Astonishingly, once Leclerc-Pelan had called the police, the robber came back to the bar in a more humble state of mind.
“I think he recognised the gravity of what he had done and thought he would get away with it if he came back and apologised,” she told regional daily Ouest-France. The man was subsequently arrested.
Leclerc-Pelan said she acted on pure instinct when the gunman entered her bar: “I thought it was a joke. He told me to fill the bag and I told him simply that I wouldn’t do it.”
If the armed robber is a Muslim person...the woman and her baby are racist.

So tired of robbers that she didn’t even care about the risk of getting shot. She just told him off!
This would never happen in France. France has “common sense” gun laws to keep the evil gun lobby from pushing death machines meant only to kill on their hapless populous. These “common sense” laws could never result in unarmed citizens having to defend themselves against armed criminals.
The woman certainly has bigger b***s than that man who was just standing there until she started beating the gunman with the bag.
Only then does he pick up a chair and approach the gunman.!

Exactly. She's transferring her learned, ingrained and perverse cultural norms to culturally different groups, who are naturally out-of-sync with majority biases, and therefore from this, she is actualizing specific types of violence and oppression on this person of color. She's guilty!!

She was quite reckless, yes, but he was on her territory, in her shop with her baby in attendance. She was not going to put up with it today. Not with lunch hour fast approaching.
She might have sort of known who the robber was, or what is background is. He’s lucky she didn’t have a bottle of champagne. “Sortir de cette piece!” (Get outta here!).
No man in the wrong, can stand against a man in the right who keeps on coming.
And he needs to watch some wildlife shows on Discovery channel. Pay close attention to ones depicting the provoking of females with young.

this must be from one of their science fiction movies. France does not allow guns. therefore the robber can not us a guns. everyone follows the rules you know. they ban drug and this is how everyone stopped doing drugs DUH
Just as likely they get shot and killed doing nothing, like in the mass shootings.
I was held up with a gun to my head, once. If it ever happens again I’m fighting back whether it kills me or not.
One has to decide if they are ok with being a victim. This woman clearly wasn’t.
